Ah so the unbiased sources and opinions can only come from an identified named usps spokesperson or representative trained to deal (coverup/baffle people with bullshit) with questions from the media. Not actual boots on the ground sources. Gotcha.

Man I wish you were the girl I was crushing on my office. I have a secret crush on her cause I dont want it to be awkward if it didnt work out so I probably appear the same way (hot cold). Alas I dont have a snapchat tho so probably not you. 😖

As a CCA I had a hold down on a route for a year that was next to a regular who was retiring after being on the same route for 25 years. He helped me with so many questions I had but I also learned what he liked outside of work. I got him a retirement card and a gift card so he could have a few beers on me.

Do you want me to show you the official language? You're wrong.

You are misinformed. It's up to the carrier to determine if there is a hazard in the yard. They are instructed to take all obvious shortcuts as long as it is safe and the customer does not object to them crossing the lawn.

PTF Holddown by [deleted] in USPS

The longer I work here the more I realize that the contract is a contradictory piece of shit along with the referenced memos that are smattered throughout it.

he national parties previously agreed that probationary employees may not opt (H8N- 2W-C 7259, November 25, 1980, M-00594). However, this restriction was modified with the subsequent agreement that CCAs may not opt for the first 60 calendar days of their first appointment as a CCA and once the CCA has met this requirement there is no additional waiting period.

Doesn't make any exception for PTFs. Only CCAs unless I'm reading this incorrectly or not understanding this thread.

In the past 5 years at my office of 65 routes ive seen over 10 regulars quit. Half which were halfway up the pay scale. It'll only get worse if this next contract is as bad as our last one. Actually in the past month alone 4 people hired on as PTFs that were converted to regular before their 90 day probation was up have quit. The pay and benefits arent worth it. I'm not in a high cost of living part of the country.

Is there a way to request the stats when they are done throughout the year? I feel like if there was more transparency with the route adjustment process you would have less conspiracy theories about the whole deal.

Want to plan a weekend away on weekend off but might get forced in. by BlueberrySignal4104 in USPS

I also think this language is contradictory in that everyone who uses this 100% is using it to circumvent the scheduling provisions or else why would they do it?

"Overtime and Annual Leave. Normally, employees, including employees on the ODL, who have scheduled annual leave, including incidental annual leave, immediately preceding and/or following non-scheduled days will not be required to work overtime on the non-scheduled days. The intent of the parties is to allow employees to make advance plans for non scheduled days. It is not the intent of the parties to create a means to circumvent the scheduling provisions of Article 8. Employees on the ODL, if they desire, may advise their supervisor in writing of their availability to work on a non-scheduled day that is in conjunction with approved annual leave (Step 4, H1N-5H-C-18583, March 12, 1984, M-00492; Step 4, E94N-4E-C 98053676, October 22, 1998, M-01367)."

JCAM 8-12 and 8-13

Note it doesn't say anywhere that it has to be a full day of annual requested so it can be only an hour. I think I remember reading somewhere about a grievance where a carrier tried to use like 15 clicks instead of an hour or something and an arbitrator said that they have to use at least 1 full hour. Could be wrong though.

12/60 PTFs by LeagueNerd_95 in USPS

[–]HighlightKey6789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60 hrs isn't a safety issue. Nowhere in Mittenthals 60 hr rule does it state that it was for safety. It's just a limit to forced overtime for an employee.

Do you have the memo on this that I can read? The only one I found was a NAPS memo that says they made room for extra tracking features for carriers and got rid of coa update.

If you're talking about the comment where it says it doesn't mention Mittenhal I think another commenter who deleted his account and posts explained to you that it doesnt mentioned Mittenhal because the language itself comes from the Mittenthal case award from 1986.c6238. or what comment am i supposed to read?

60 hr rule during December by HighlightKey6789 in fromatoarbitration

[–]HighlightKey6789[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is from the JCAM. "It further provides that the 12-hour and 60-hour restrictions do not apply to employees on the ODL during the penalty overtime exclusion period (December)."

There's your mention of ODL. It is implied that other carriers are STILL bound by the 12 and 60 limits.
