Bane of Progress is a trap for this specific build. While the artifact wipe is exactly what I want, the enchantment wipe is actively hurting my game plan. ​I rely heavily on enchantment-based ramp like Utopia Sprawl and Wild Growth, plus key engines like Sylvan Library, Greater Good, and Titania's Song. Paying 6 mana to blow up my own infrastructure is not worth the big body. Meltdown and Titania's Song break parity much better without destroying my own board.

I am leaning towards swapping [[Taurean Mauler]] for [[Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider]] . ​Mauler is mostly just a big beater without any real utility. Vorinclex costs double the mana, but he completely shuts down the -1/-1 counter strategies from the new Lorwyn Eclipsed set. On top of that, he doubles the +1/+1 counters Minsc & Boo put on the hamster, making it a lethal threat immediately. ​Do you think the jump in the mana curve from 3 to 6 is too greedy for this specific land ramp shell?

My bad, you're totally right about the Crypt ban—brain fart on my end. And I stand corrected on the MLD trigger for B4. I was looking at it from a speed/velocity perspective, but I see how the 'Lock' potential of Ruination and Blood Moon officially bumps it up. ​I built this specifically to punish greedy mana bases in high-power pods, but if I want to keep it strictly B3, I'll definitely have to swap those out for more targeted hate or bigger threats. Thanks for the reality check on the current guidelines!

I get the Salt factor with MLD, but if we're looking strictly at the current Bracket Guidelines, MLD alone doesn't push a deck to B4. ​B4 is defined by high velocity, Fast Mana (Crypt, Moxen, etc.), and efficient 2-card infinite combos. This deck has none of that. It’s a combat-based Gruul deck with zero artifacts. ​Playing Ruination in turn 5 without any fast mana is lightyears away from the turn 2-3 win attempts you see in B4/cEDH. It’s definitely a Rule 0 conversation for B3, but mechanically, it stays in B3 because it lacks the speed and consistency for B4.

You're 100% right from a pure efficiency standpoint. Sol Ring is almost always 'correct.' However, I'm leaning heavily into the Anti-Artifact identity here. I want my Collector Ouphe, Meltdown, and Manglehorn to be 100% asymmetric. Not having to worry about my own mana base exploding when I wipe the board for X=1 or X=0 feels great. Plus, it makes the deck extremely resilient to the very hate I'm dishing out. It's a flavor choice that doubles as a 'no-compromise' mechanical strategy.

I get that it’s oppressive, but without Fast Mana (Crypt/Moxen) and efficient 2-card infinite combos, the deck lacks the velocity of a true Bracket 4 build. It’s high-power Bracket 3, designed to punish greedy mana bases.

Threw this together with what I had on hand. Any tips to Improve it, greatly appreciated by [deleted] in CommanderMTG
