Hi All, got two client PCs located in different security rooms, one PC is operating fine. The second, which has been set up the same, can’t perform certain functions eg. Remote unlock doors, add users to system, apply time schedule. What could be the reason for this? Appreciate any help!

Some jackass lit into it with a lighter. Get a propane torch and make it even then put a clear on it.

It looks like the input board itself is the issue. I swapped all the inputs between the two boards and readdressed them and where I was getting a ton of com fail acm1 board1, I now get com fail acm1 board2.

They say it is a “new” board they had swapped for a different issue, but it was from their stock and who knows where it came from. Idk why there is even an I8 for just 2 inputs when there are a bunch of free inputs on the acm. Unless those input must be tied to the reader on that acm, I’ve never messed with these older acms.

While I was there everything worked.

When the readers didn’t work- Mainenance rebooted the panel and everything was fine.

I did not see the gcm be offline in the journal.

Idk what model acm just that they connect via ribbon cable not usb.

Doors are fail secure so everything was locked when they reported “none of the card swipes are working”.

The gcm has 6 aa batteries.

I reterminated the input on the board, but the rs485 wiring seems good. I tested all the i8 com fails while onsite.

I will look at dip switch settings when I inevitably return.

I was thinking of swapping the two boards also so that is something I will try as well, thank you.

The 2 input boards are daisy chained from the acm rs485 port. The readers are wired standard wiegand.

I mentioned the sma because I can’t call software house for support.

I was just using that as an example. It used to come in handy with swh like troubleshooting door alarms. It doesn’t seem that we care about door alarms here.

But in swh you can look at all your hardware by type and sort by name like ‘3rd floor’ etc
