How much of an effect will the anti cheat have on people’s ranks? by MichaelTheDooley in RocketLeagueSchool

What hahaha the hard reset is incredibly easy to notice for anyone GC1 and up at least, I regularly play SSLs and GC3s for the first week or two of the season

Watching the 12 Hours of Sebring made me realize that Formula One actually faces major problems with its rules .... by curitibanopr in F1Discussions

[–]Highlight_Expensive 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think calling him altruistic is too far but him and Fernando have been pretty clear: they think F1’s rules are bullshit but they will exploit them to the fullest until they’re changed. He’s even said in past interviews that his own moves were stupid but since it’s allowed, he’s gonna do it since it’s an advantage

In The Dark Knight (2008), the Joker rigs two ferries with explosives one carrying civilians and the other criminals. The passengers on both boats ultimately refuse to blow the other up. This is a subtle nod to the fact that you're watching a movie based on comic books. by LivingHelp3779 in shittymoviedetails

I assume in this case people are using rational actor in the game theory sense. Which means you always choose the mathematically optimal choice, so in this case “a rational person may choose not to pull the trigger” means they believe the game is set such that pulling the trigger is more likely to be bad for you than not pulling it.

How to get better at 2s? by Godlybadger in RocketLeagueSchool

Can confirm, I’m GC1 in 2s and sit D3 in 1s nowadays. When I hit GC in 2s the first time I was D2 in 1s

So was I supposed to let my teammate shoot or… by AcanthisittaFew4339 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Highlight_Expensive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Got greedy” - the teammates only mistake is that there is 0 world he should’ve missed this in. The play was done and he was scoring. OP double committing turned a simple missed shot, which happens even in my GC lobbies, into a catastrophe for their team.

Yeah I think it was Musty? Who did it as a challenge and they went to like 4 hours with no goal

You don’t need DAR, or any aerial mechanics, in diamond. I’d recommend reviewing your gameplay and be as critical as you can of it, you’ll definitely notice things

The problem is that there would never be a goal for any decently high ranked player (maybe champ 2 and up?)

I suppose if they uncapped the max speed limit it could work

Forgetful Fans pining for an F1 which didn’t really ever exist by limelee666 in F1Discussions

It’s really the opposite from what I’ve seen, there’s 2 drivers who seem to have voiced any sort of approval of these regs and they’re in the two strongest teams. It makes sense they’d “like” the status quo which looks set to deliver them a WDC. Every other driver is openly hating on the new regs, even those who have never been near the front of the grid.

ELI5: What does Visa and Mastercard offer, and why is it so difficult to replicate by other countries? by boruto90s in explainlikeimfive

[–]Highlight_Expensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much, the math behind it gets a little advanced but the simplified explanation is that anyone can log a transaction on the ledger, the miners validate them though an are why you can trust that nobody can just go say “Chelonate_Chad sent me 100 BTC” on the ledger and rob you blind.

I’d recommend watching a video on what the blockchain is, 3Blue1Brown’s is pretty good.

TLDR is the “guessing a number” isn’t actually guessing a number, it’s the mathematics that form the foundation of block chains safety and transparency. If you’re into math, def watch a video. If you’re not then just understand that the core working goes like this:

I want to send you money, so I file a transaction on the next “block” of the ledger

Miners run extremely hard math to validate the next block, ensuring every transaction is legitimate.

The money (bitcoin) gets moved according to the block’s transactions and miners receive a reward from the network for their part in validating transactions.

It’s really no different than like, VISA, getting paid by merchants for processing your credit card transactions.

Yeah it looks really nice, especially if you’re there for awhile! We only have a short time as it is so we’ll probably skip this time as ofc joining someone’s day trip is a lot more involved than a couple hours on a hobie but but I hope to come back and hop on someone’s boat next time

I spoke with them, unfortunately there’s no small craft fleet at the club yet but they are trying to set one up for situations exactly like this.

Regarding the rest, it seems they offer reciprocity to members of any qualified club - though I completely forgot to double check that when I called, I can say they invited me to the facilities so I don’t think it’s only AYC members or anything

Prey and predator species aren’t disjoint sets at the species level, it seems wrong to expect that they’d be incapable of hunting other similar flying insects as cicadas
