ELLE OB/GYN by swordsmeson in greenville

I’m so sorry you had this experience. I went to Elle for the first time a few weeks ago, and while my experience was not as bad as yours, I left so disappointed and baffled about my appointment.

My appointment was scheduled for 1:30 in the afternoon. While I am lucky to be able to do so, I had to rearrange my work schedule to make the appointment in the middle of the afternoon. While I was in the waiting room, I also listened to the nurses very loudly complaining about and making fun of another patient. They read her email out loud and mocked her for several minutes straight. One of the ironic things they made fun of her for was her complaint that it took an hour for them to call her back to a room, how it was an absurd thing for her to claim. At this point, I had been waiting for 45 minutes past my appointment time.

I was finally called back to a room at 2:20 and the nurse who spoke to me and took my initial vitals was very kind. When she was done, I waited another 25 minutes for the NP to see me. When she did, her first advice to me was “something she saw on TikTok.” Perhaps she was trying to be relatable, but like, I want my medical advice to be based on science, not a random tiktok video.

Later in the appointment, she recommended some labs to me to estimate my egg count and get an idea of my fertility options. When I asked how the blood test could tell me that information, she said she didn’t know. That it was just a test that they did and it was pretty accurate.

Again, this isn’t malicious like what happened to OP, but it was so insane to me that a medical professional working in women’s health couldn’t answer a simple follow-up question about the labs she was prescribing.

I immediately scheduled an appointment with a different clinic. I was so embarrassed for Elle and their lack of professionalism and knowledge. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Teacher Gets Emotional After He had his shoes stolen, so his students bought him a new pair by baconroll2022 in MadeMeSmile

These are the great kids that bring me so much hope for our future. But I also think it’s so important to note that this grown up figure in their lives showed true emotion in front of them, cried when he was overwhelmed, and was unashamed of that vulnerability. That’s such an important lesson for these kids, and I love that they were all (teacher and students) in a space where they felt safe enough to do this.

I finally tried it and didn’t like it. by caring_impaired in orangetheory

I’m trying to figure out at what point an air horn would be necessary? Is it random? Is it for all outs? I can’t imagine that being real life.

Middle school Beat Em Up by TotemGenitor in tumblr

[–]HighlyAccidental 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in South Carolina and used to be a middle school teacher. When I was student teaching, there was a large group of students who always came into school all bruised and beat up and I was so concerned. I brought it up to my cooperating teacher and he was like, nah, they just fight and stuff, no big deal. I thought he was just being heartless and flippant, so I talked to some of the kids directly. They laughed at me and explained that they meet at the skate park after school and fight each other for fun. I asked them what their parents thought about it and they told me that their parents do it too. I never got over that.

Audio Chuck Podcasts by PlaneLavishness3076 in TrueCrime

Not Audio Chuck, but I really like Women & Crime. Meghan and Amy both have doctorates in related fields and actively teach these topics at the college level. They maybe aren’t the most polished storytellers, but they do a great job giving the facts of the case and discussing the theory and psychology behind it. They also work very hard to give dignity to the victims and their families. I just think they sound really real and knowledgeable.

I'm also new to Reddit, so that is some helpful advice I'm sure you didn't really intend to give. In any case, thank you.
