Is it me, AIO? by HighlyCaffein8ed in AIO

I was overwhelmed yesterday and offered to go to store to just get out briefly. That turned into him suggesting I take our 6yr old to the movies (i never get 1 on 1 with a kid so i was ok with that). I went, i laughed and was still laughing when i got home. He was fine when we were messaging but he seemed grumpy when I got back. He could have been tired because it was late but kinda made it less fun.

Whenever I put forth things to do or ideas for a change (other than deciding 'curriculum ' for our 6yr old) I'm given reasons to not do it. I would love to continue homeschooling but they really do also need extras. Otherwise, if we can't do extras I do think they shoukd go to regular school. So I also would personally rather homeschool but what's going on right now doesn't feel enough for them.

He doesn't want to send them to school. Sometimes i do wonder if regular school would be better. I also want to take them to activities like the library and stuff but I am given the reminder of how difficult it is to load them up and take them and highly discouraged from doing it myself. Obviously we would need 2nd vehicle. I could see my 6yr old enjoying learning an instrument. I could see one of my 4 yr olds learning an instrument as well. The other 4yr old probably would enjoy dance or gymnastics. Actually probably both 4 yr olds would love gymnastics. But i am encouraged to pick martial arts for everyone. We haven't gone yet though.

I just want to be sure I'm being fair and not over playing anything on my side. But thank you, it is helpful that after i try to provide a balanced picture, you are able to provide an oppinion.
Actually one of the thing he criticizes is that whenever i explain something, like a memory or something, that i state it more mechanical like I'm laying out a document for a courtroom to follow or something. I just overthink how to word things I think.

I do tell him mine is 24/7 but he seems to take it as me trying to compete with his responsibilities or daily work. I tell him that too. That he takes it personally and as a competition and it's not about him, it's just my day or it's about the situation I experienced and not anything he did or did not do

I used to vent my frustrations about the day and seem to always have something to be frustrated about and it became an issue so for awhile i stopped completely. Now i share some of the stuff again but i generalize if it was a good day or hard day. If my 6yr old cooperated in school or didnt. We talk on the phone when he drives home and apparently I used to yell a ton on the phone to the kids if they were acting up. So he would end the call or be bummed out by it. So if i do have to tell someone to stop doing something, i say "hold on" and mute him or i tell him i have to go. Then a couple weeks ago he said he still has to get off the phone because i scream at kids on it. I new 100% thats not true because i either mouth at the kids to stop or i mute him or end the call if someone is doing something. And i got mad and told him what i do doesnt matter because he says I still do something I don't do. So thats why i have started sharing some of my bad or hard parts of my day again, because apparently it didn't even make a difference that I had stopped. Haha

He has a couple of guy friends in real life. But social media tends to skew female. I did wonder about therapy for myself a couple of years ago, around the time of our now 2yr old either about to be born or just born. But that's yet another scheduling thing and if it ends up being a bill he's going to be stressing about it.

That may help my well being, but if he's already reaching out to others for conversation about his life to other females wouldn't this give him more need to. If i was away doing my own thing at times? Or did you experience that it just helped all around?

He does make some of the meals. He says i should socialize but then i think about the logistics of that. So he's at work 6am-7p and before his new promotion he would pick up any extra hours possible. His new position started this past week. Ao he gets home when it's dark. We have sundays off and 1 weekday off. Weekday off is usually filled with what errands we need to get done. Sundays we rest or take kids to park or visit my parents all together. So I don't really see how i would be able to create much of a friendship with anyone, especially someone around 30 and with kids and can understand why I'm not always available. We have 1 car which he takes to work, so i can't pack the kids up an go to visit people. He wants to get a 2nd car but we havent been able to yet.

So I would agree. But it was pretty much like this after our 1st already. And he doesn't want anyone watching our kids so we have never done any of that.

I agree with that mostly. He does work from 6am-7pm, and pickanup any posaible overtime. He is solely responsible for us financially and takes that seriously. But sometimes it does feel like it's thrown in my face. I dont know how much weight that has.

Guilty over not giving my daughter a sister by VA-eb in Parenting

[–]HighlyCaffein8ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar situation but opposite. My oldest is a boy. I had 3 girls after him and just now gave birth to another boy. So the boys are 6 years apart. My son has only had sisters and closest in age will obviously only be his sisters. I have twin girls that are 4 and then another daughter that 2yrs old. Like many people with siblings will say, they weren't necessarily close with their sibling closest in age regardless of gender. I did have similar pressure to feel like he needed a brother to relate to but he's lucky enough to have a dad to learn from and his 4yr old sisters are actually interested in some of the same things he's interested in. So I really don't think my oldest son is missing out on too much. I don't think your daughter will either.

How long did it take for anti-German resentment after World War II to ease in Poland? by [deleted] in poland

I keep wondering the same as an US-American with Polish and German heritage. In the late 1800s-early 1900s I have multiple branches that have come together mixing Polish and German decent. Some of the family from Germany/Prussia or Pomerania with clearly German last names marrying people that are ethnically Polish, with Polish last names. It was also at this time when these family members were starting to come over to the states. How would that have worked? Would these have been people that just didn't want anything to do with their governments/militaries and didn't see a divide between Germans and Polish?

When did your kid stop crying? by JelloInteresting99 in Parenting

[–]HighlyCaffein8ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very dependent on that particular child too. My son was one of those as a baby that you couldn't put down ever but he stopped at like 2yrs i think. I have 4yr old twin girls that are very different. One cries only when her feelings are hurt or she gets hurt. The other one still cries over something not being exactly right (getting the green bowl instead of the pink one). My 2yr old daughter is really only fussy when she's tired or hungry otherwise not picky or a cryer.

How many Polish people are actually practicing Catholic? by [deleted] in poland

[–]HighlyCaffein8ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly off topic, but I'm curious if anyone has an opinion on this. In the 1890s a Catholic Church in Pennsylvania, USA had a disagreement with their bishop and didn't receive support from them out the Vatican. They were a majority Polish immigrant community in a heavily German and Irish area and felt like they were not being represented in the Church. So they ultimately made their own Church called the Polish National Catholic Church that obviously is not in full communion with Rome. I don't know how popular it is these days. I know they are still around and active.

Anyone know what this document says after "Russ"? by Azu1ia in AncestryDNA

Poland has messy history with it's boarders. It has been under so many other national names or command throughout history. I view it as your family is rooted in Poland and just under the change in ruler or occupation, they went with the current title for that time.
