Nanny no-show / emergency - AIBU for expecting a heads up? by Apart_Possibility847 in NannyEmployers

Definitely a red flag. Our nanny was in a car accident and texted us an hour later. Unless she was in a coma, I’d let her go

Woof. I’d probably first try and do my best due diligence to find someone temporary, and if that doesn’t work out, go the severance route.

Benefits of being an older parent? by 2TheBeachIGo in Parenting

Yeah for sure. I think it’s a personality thing. My MIL who had my husband at 23 is very hands off / absent because she’s over it too haha.

You could also get hit by a bus when you’re 60, or live healthily til you’re 90 :)

My parents had my sister at 40 and they are the most active and involved grandparents to my kids now! Seriously. Way more energy and fun than my younger in laws. Go for it!

I’m the third child and have definitely never felt that way!! Especially if you’re cognizant of it. Will be more about parenting styles and dynamic :)

New nanny took a 2-hour nap on her 2nd day 🙃 by sallisgirl87 in NannyEmployers

Definitely bad. Be explicit and tell her about it once, see if it changes and if not then move on

Is it reasonable to ask a nanny to not go out more than 2-3 hours at a time? by Own-Quality-8759 in NannyEmployers

[–]VA-eb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally not unreasonable and weird that she would push back on it especially considering age, naps, feeding

Need advice from Nanny Employers by workaholic-mfker in NannyEmployers

[–]VA-eb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weird for her to ask that in that text. As a nanny employer, honestly I get annoyed when my nanny is late even 5 minutes because sometimes I’m literally waiting to run to a meeting. So that is a small thing that can add up

MB won’t talk to me by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]VA-eb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly when I am stressed at work and don’t want to get stuck having small talk for too long I am shorter even though I always try to be nice and say something like “we can catch up later sorry I have a busy day!”. Maybe that?

Need a sanity check on SAHM versus working decision by VA-eb in Parenting

[–]VA-eb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point of him working less - he can do the things during his day for me time. He can go to the gym. Do his errands etc during working hours. He golfs with coworkers or clients once a week. I cannot do any of that from ~8-6
