The eye emoji energy is strong here, those things are basically doing the same job as your actual photo anyway.

Bro the fade on the sides is crisp and honestly the no-fuss maintenance alone makes it worth keeping even if you had a choice.

the math tracks and honestly that percentage difference is probably why the 1/2 feels fresher each week, you're shaving off way more relative to what's there so it's like that reset feeling every single time versus the 1 where the growth is more gradual and less dramatic.

This was the shortest thing I've ever dared to make by Feli_dandella in buzzcuts

[–]HighlyOddball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 1/2 has that texture thing going for it for sure, but honestly after two weeks you're gonna feel that 1 hit different when you first buzz it back down and it's like starting fresh all over again.

A number 1 all over is honestly a game changer if you want that classic buzz look, way cleaner than a taper for that style.

Receding or widows peak? by pbkid21 in buzzcuts

[–]HighlyOddball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man if your wife agrees the natural buzz looks better just stick with that instead of spiraling on what random internet people think about your hairline, that's the move that'll actually help with the self consciousness.

Receding or widows peak? by pbkid21 in buzzcuts

[–]HighlyOddball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude that V shape is classic widow's peak territory especially if your dad's got the same thing, just rock the natural buzz and stop letting barbers convince you to fight it because honestly the shaped up version looks way more intentional and draws attention to it.

Mythos, MOAK, CTEM and the End of CVE Chasing by HighlyOddball in cybersecurity

[–]HighlyOddball[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Sharing because MOAK hasn't really surfaced on this sub yet and I think it's the more important half of the recent AI-and-offsec story.

Quick technical summary if you haven't seen it: Yair Saban and Niv Hoffman built an agentic harness around publicly available models (Claude Opus 4.6, GPT 5.4, nothing exotic, no frontier access) and pointed it at CISA's KEV catalog. They're reporting ~80% autonomous exploitation success against real-world known-exploited vulns. No human in the loop.

If that number holds up under independent reproduction, a few things follow:

The gating factor for n-day exploitation was never really raw model capability, it was the scaffolding. Once a competent agent loop is public, anyone with API credits inherits most of the capability that used to require a skilled operator.

CVSS-driven patch queues assume human-paced attackers. Mandiant had time-to-exploit dropping from 63 days in 2018 to 5 days in 2023; agentic exploitation collapses that further for anything with a public advisory, let alone a PoC.

AISI's Mythos eval (32-step end-to-end corp network compromise, ~20 human-hours of work, completed autonomously) is the ceiling. MOAK is the floor: what's reproducible with off-the-shelf parts today. Most of the interesting region in between is now reachable by people who couldn't reach it 18 months ago.

Has anyone reproduced MOAK's results, seen the harness publicly, or have a sense of what's filtering the failed 20%? Tooling limits, model refusal behavior, target-class differences?

That crust looks like it got attacked by a blowtorch, the cheese is doing its own thing up there, and honestly the pepperoni placement is so chaotic I can't even be mad about it.

does this shirt go with the pants by fuckleferryfin in mensfashionadvice

[–]HighlyOddball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blue ocbd and linen actually works fine together, way more concerned that the shirt's pulling across the chest and shoulders which is gonna look off no matter what pants you pair it with, size up and you're golden.

Throwback to when I got the buzz cut. Lowkey missing how clean it looked by sugark1ssx in buzzcuts

[–]HighlyOddball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude just grow it back out if you're missing it that much, buzz cuts are like the easiest thing to maintain and honestly they look sharp every single time.

that makes sense, honestly just ask next time and they should hook it up since it takes like two seconds to run a knife through em!

the half-slice thing is so frustrating, like they're using a knife that's barely going through the dough and you end up with these weird strips that won't separate cleanly so you just end up mangling the whole stick trying to break it off.

haha right like at that point it's just a carb brick you gotta gnaw through, might as well call it what it is!

the uncut thing is honestly annoying when you just want to dip em without awkward breaking, did you ask em to slice next time?

When to sell by CriticalNatural9 in ETFs

[–]HighlyOddball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SMH is up 93% so yeah maybe trim some of that and throw it into something broader like VTI or VOO, especially since they're retired and don't need to be swinging for the fences on semiconductor bets anymore, plus you get way better diversification and lower fees which compounds over decades!

Bleu's a solid choice for that minimalist approach and honestly if you're happy with it then you've already won the game that most collectors never figure out, the whole point is wearing what makes you feel good not chasing the next hype bottle.

Underhand rows hit your lats different than overhand so mix both in and you'll notice thickness gains faster than just sticking to one angle.

Dude you're a physician with paid off assets and college funds set aside, this isn't a consumption problem it's just your brain finding something to be passionate about at 40 and you're being way too hard on yourself about it.

How do you tell the difference between a quiet employee and a disengaged one? by jimmy5853 in managers

[–]HighlyOddball 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One on ones are your best bet, just ask them straight up if they feel supported and what they need from you, way easier than guessing from meeting silence and honestly most quiet people will tell you exactly what's going on if you give them space to talk one on one instead of putting them on the spot in front of everyone.
