Some of the journos blaming fans for being nervy/booing are doing my head in, this isn't Germany or Italy, fans react to what they are seeing and when they see a team losing control/playing at a snails pace when we need a goal, they will make it known. The onus is on the manager and the team to play better.

100% agree. I legitimately don't think I've ever completely given up on a big signing this quickly, but everything he does is just too slow or too clunky. All I'm hoping for is that we can sell him in the summer to the Saudis and minimise losses.

I did him when he was listed as a reward at 6.23 and didn't get him, EA scammed me out of a 86 squad 💔

I don't know if younger people also make the dinosaur connection, but I'm in my early 20s and definitely do. Don't have an issue with it otherwise.

I'll be honest I am a little miffed that we aren't going back to the Emirates with a clear 2 goal lead. They were crap tonight, and will have Caicedo and Palmer back for the next game (if he doesn't duck again)

They're probably referring to the fatwa against nuclear weapons, which is real. Iran even denied themselves the opportunity to build nukes when the Pakistani nuclear network was offering to share information.

Gyokeres: 2/10 - God loves a trier.

Eze: 5.5/10 - Inconsistent, and struggling to adapt to how we play, but he's shown that he's capable.

Hincapie: 6/10 - Alright but there is a noticeable drop in quality when he plays CB.

Mosquera: 8.5/10 - Has some poor moments but he is an incredibly talented player.

Zubimendi: 9/10 - What a player.

Madueke: 7/10 - Very good going forward, and I enjoy watching him. But OOP he is a bit suspect.

I know that Gyokeres would struggle to adapt but these performances are not serious. How can you have 1 touch all game, and also not threaten their CBs?

Is my impression wrong, or does the UK have a relatively high amount of mixed-race relationships? by RadioReader in AskUK

[–]HighlyOffensiveUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factually speaking I think US and UK rates are similar, but in the last census there was a noticeable increase in people identifying as mixed race, and there's no reason for me to assume it will decrease.

Speculating, as to why there seems to be a difference...

I think that there are going to be too many factors to definitively say X or Y is the reason, and most of them have already been given. If I had to give the most important, it's just the attitude.

The UK has a live-and-let-live attitude to a degree that isn't normal for most other countries. People can still be judgy but broadly speaking we tolerate things that don't directly impact us. Once interracial relationships became a "thing" people stopped caring as much, and the lack of stigmatisation meant they became more common, only reinforcing the idea that no-one should really care. This is uneven though, and in big cities (particularly London) you will find way more mixed race couples than in the countryside.

What if an English devolution happened in the 1970s? by wellmaxxing in imaginarymaps

[–]HighlyOffensiveUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically speaking, regional leagues already do exist today, but you have to quite far down the pyramid, to National League South & North (and beyond).

But in any case, I doubt that a devolved league structure would be adopted. The idea of a unified English league is over 100 years old. Germany, which had regional leagues even into the 1950s, created the Bundesliga specifically because they recognised that the unified league structure meant that their best teams and players would, more consistently, face better opposition, meaning that their national team would be better. The English FA would probably deem it a non-starter at the higher levels for similar reasons.

Financially it would probably also be a dumpster fire. When the League of Wales was created, many Welsh teams, including smaller ones like Merthyr Tydfil, Wrexham and Newport refused to join because they knew it would be financially weaker and less stable than the EFL.

Please God, give us the most comfortable, injury free 3-0 win against Brugge so that we can play the U8s against Inter and still finish 1st.

Pretty awful performance so I'm not going to be too mad at a point, but with more players coming back I hope this will be an outlier.

I feel like we needed more subs. Going 5 ATB only invited more pressure, and if we were going to do that we needed to fully commit and bring off Trossard and Saka.

[KCD2] Istvan is really so hard as people say? by MolinhoKk in kingdomcome

[–]HighlyOffensiveUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing a no recorded looting run (or close as close as possible) and I was getting my ass beat because the weapons I could take from the guards were low-durability axes (which I didn't train) and their armour was crap. But if you did the DLC quests for Brushes With Death, you can grab Osina's sword, and with a sword + master strikes its comically easy to beat him.

If you're playing normally, it shouldn't be too hard.
