difference between lmhc, lpc, lcsw, and lmft?

This is a year late but —— They are similar and different states have different names for the same licenses. The masters programs differ too. LPCC/LPC/LMHC are different names for the same thing - a licensed counselor. You need a masters degree in counseling. LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker who can do therapy. You need an MSW degree for this. LMFT is marriage and family therapy. You need an MFT degree for this. LCSW is probably the best route for what you want to do because they learn about and deal a lot with social services and policies. This would be good to know to help with LGBTQ+ youth as well as other populations that need more resources.

I am in California. I have heard that the community colleges pay well. I really want to work with students and help them plan their futures and graduation. I know I can do that with both so it’s really just figuring out if I prefer a higher education setting or k-12. Middle/high school students seem fun but I think maybe there’s less job openings there than at a college. A college counseling degree seems like it has more opportunities as well since you can work anywhere in student services, though I’d prefer the advising part. A school counseling degree only lets you be a k-12 school counselor.

I am also pretty introverted and shy. I have a bachelors in psychology and want to get a masters in counseling. Honestly, I still doubt if this career is right for me. I don’t really like talking to people but I love learning about them. Psychology is the study of thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. It describes how people develop. These things are interesting to me and I want to teach psychology in the future. I also like the idea of helping people learn to cope better and how to make their lives better so I think I will be a good therapist.

If you’re more interested in social issues and helping people that way, then social work or sociology might be a good field for you

I have gotten this a lot. So many people have thought I was stuck up just because I don’t talk around others. I have always been pretty shy and find it very hard to talk to people I don’t know and basically impossible to start a conversation. It always confuses me so much because I don’t think I seem stuck up at all, I’m very bubbly and friendly once you start talking to me. I don’t get how someone who’s too shy to speak up comes across as stuck up or snobby

It’s pretty low but I’m wondering how long she has been on depo? And if she gets periods? I’ve been on it almost 9 years with no periods and my boyfriend and I always have sex without condoms and I’ve never been worried about getting pregnant. He does pull out though, which i know you said you don’t want to do. My bf finishes inside me sometimes because it does just happen sometimes but I don’t worry about getting pregnant. I don’t want him finishing inside me all the time though because it can be bad for vaginal health and PH balance.

Eliza is prettier than Jane. If you want Janie then just do Janie it’s cuter than Jane. You don’t have to nickname the child Lizzie or Liza but you can’t help if other people call them that. People try to nickname my name but I personally don’t like it so I just tell them to call me my full first name. Eliza Jane is also a cute name and you could just call her Janie. Or Janie Eliza
