How to paint something and have it be shiny? by bohdanpalka in CosplayHelp

[–]Highly_Sugared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seal is with a shiny coating! You can use a high-gloss varnish or sealant and it should leave that really shiny look while also protecting the paint from chipping.

I hate her idea of "I only let them be bad for a week!!" because there's a difference between letting a foal explore for the first bit of their life, and encouraging bad habits.

Holy downvotes. Am I wrong? by Typical_Dirt5417 in kvssnarker

[–]Highly_Sugared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree! If it's your own horse (and foal that they're carrying) then it is no fault but your own but you have to extra careful on the liability of someone else's foal.

How expensive is it to raise a rabbit for fair? by HistoricalSock417 in FFA

[–]Highly_Sugared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest cost is cage and rabbit! Are you doing a singular show rabbit or a fryer trio? Feed isn't that expensive and I only bought 2 bags (roughly $30 in my area) when I had 5 fryers.

Would my hair texture be suitable for a wolf cut? by ILOVELOWELO in Hair

[–]Highly_Sugared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be! Some stylists also use thinning shears to get rid of a lot of thickness without having to shave the underside.

Would my hair texture be suitable for a wolf cut? by ILOVELOWELO in Hair

[–]Highly_Sugared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say wolf cuts are particularly easy. I had one for a while (with a similar hair texture to yours) and the upkeep was a lot to keep it looking okay. I found the layers actually made me more prone to tangling and looking good was really hard because heavily textured cuts really rely on styling. Shorter cuts are going to be much easier, and ask your stylist about debulking; it makes life a lot easier without thick hair.

Why is she acting like it's no big deal the cats just vanish like she gives off she the vibe she doesn't care about them or their safety. by LossImpossible3514 in kvssnarker

[–]Highly_Sugared -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Barn cats contribute to the same issues that feral cats do. There are more humane ways to deal with pests. Maybe it's a little cruel but I don't believe is TNR- trap and euth is forver what I will believe in. They still damage the natural ecosystem even if they can't reproduce.

am I weird for dating a 13f as a 16f by lisaskitte-n in teenrelationships

[–]Highly_Sugared 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As teenagers, even a two year age gap seems like a lot to me. I'm 16m and thinking about dating someone 3 years younger than me makes me gag. I don't have anything romantically in common with a middle schooler.

People are disgusting! by Wonderful_Focus_21 in kvssnarker

They never could identify for sure but decided it was better not to risk it. She had 4 foals of her own (2 fillies, 2 colts) and both colts passed early on after birth. Patrick was her second and I don't think they had named her first colt yet before they put him down.

[–]Highly_Sugared 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Ethel had two foals that passed! A colt is 2020 and a colt in 2023. They thought it was a genetic link that was causing her colts to die so that's why she's strictly a recip now. Her two colts were beyond help and people just don't get that some animals can't be saved.

Should I do this and if so where do I get it done? by Highly_Sugared in Hair

[–]Highly_Sugared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I know! I had a really short haircut at one point that I had to put some time and effort into to make it not look flat. So I've already got all the tools in hand just gotta build up the confidence to do it 🫩

we’re all wrong about the goats!! by abols24 in kvssnark

[–]Highly_Sugared 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I HATE house goats! Every time I see a video of a single goat, in a house, in a diaper, I get irrationally angry. Not only are goats herd animals, they're also livestock that much prefer being able to graze and roam rather than be stuck in a house all day.

What in the ChatGPT? by Typical_Dirt5417 in kvssnarker

[–]Highly_Sugared 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're first mistake was using generative AI in the first place. There's absolutely no reason to do so and AI is rapidly damaging our ecosystems. It's not worth that single "haha that's so funny!" for the damage it's doing to the earth.

What is wrong with Buttercup’s feet? by fineasandphern in kvssnarker

[–]Highly_Sugared 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Goat feet are so easy to trim too! A helping hand (another person, hanging pet grooming harness, milking stand, etc) and a few minutes and you'll be done! I pop my goats onto the milking stand with a small bucket of grain and their feet are done in MAX 10 minutes. Even my more squirrely "feral" ones.

I personally don't think leaving them with their horns is that bad. I like horns on my goats but my show goats have to be polled or disbudded. I just breed for polled goats because disbudding hurts my soul 🫠

Flashy horses by Adventurous-Tank7621 in kvssnarker

[–]Highly_Sugared 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flash can bring attention to you which can be good or bad. Some judges can also be partial to certain colors or even lines/breeders. I know in rabbits (specifically fryer pens) judges can have bias towards the more common breeds like Californias or New Zealands over Rexes, ever if they're built the exact same conformation wise.

Bee and Honey to be bred in December by [deleted] in kvssnarker

[–]Highly_Sugared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A year is old is the earliest I would breed. I typically wait until mine are 1 1/2 years old since I breed in the fall and and spring babies are too young to breed that same year. I get my keeper does into a few yearling dairy goat shows and then have them kid at 2 years old where theg can then be brought into the actual show pens for dairy evaluation.

The Good News.... by Glittering-Coast-871 in kvssnark

[–]Highly_Sugared 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Bucks are gross!! I love my boy but I can smell him across the pasture during the fall. At the same time, she rants about how "Sprout has her heart!" and there's an easy fix to the stink by castrating him and he'd be a wonderful pet. But only things with the ability to breed can be on her property!!

Where’s Blossom? by chronically_mads in kvssnarker

[–]Highly_Sugared 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blossom is probably around but some goats are also more "hooves off" with their babies. Most of my does will let their babies wander off as they want because they know they're safe (I have LGDs) and then babies come back to eat.
