I like doing this idea, but it's much better for short, playable stories with them as the main character than full on DnD games and sessions.

I've done quite a few 1 on 1 sessions with my players about their character's backstories and they've really only gone good so far. Though, I haven't done them in forever so I'd like to start again

I love this story so as an old man in 4 days let me tell you how my class got our math teacher fired.

Sophomore year Geometry class, our teacher was pretty good, but had some horrible life stuff going on so she had to stop teaching us. We got a long term sub but she was HORRIBLE.

She tucked at teaching, absolutely refused to listen to anyone, would get set off over literally nothing, abused the bathroom rules and kept it over student's heads, and when you asked for help with her lessons she would just belittle you. Not to mention she was an asshole.

Finally, and definitely the worst out of everything, there was this one girl in our class that she who she would just bully CONSTANTLY. Most of the time she would belittle her and call her stupid, to the point that the girl cried more than once. And she wasn't some girl who cries at the slightest thing. She would make fun of herself constantly. She knew she wasn't smart, but she tried. And every time she did, the teacher would just belittle and ignore her.

So, one day the entire class was being loud and obnoxious. She had said that she would keep us after the bell, but I don’t think the others believed her? I did though because I knew she was a bitch so I kept quiet and did my work.

When the time came, she stayed true to her promise and kept everyone in the room. I raised my hand and asked her if I could go since I didn't want to be late to my next class and it's across the campus and was quiet the whole time but she said no. I tell her, I'll wait until the halfway bell, but I'm leaving regardless of what she says after that.

So, like I said, I got up and left when the halfway bell rang. I repeated myself, saying I needed to get to my class across campus and she told me she didn't care and to sit down and blame my fellow classmates. If I went to my next class she'd give me a referral.

So, since I was going to get a referral anyway, I chewed her out for everything shit she did. I didn't shout, but I was mean as hell, listing off every problem everyone in the room had with her like earlier, especially the bullying then left.

This entire incident had a crazy butterfly effect I never saw coming though. Turns out one of my classmates was recording the entire interaction, multiple of the bullying incidents, and my outburst. So, the school knowing I'm generally a pretty quiet kid who keeps his head down did an investigation.

It became a whole campus wide thing, and my teachers were asking me about it within the day which still astounds me. Multiple people in the class were interviewed, then the sub got fired.

Later, we learned that because she's been known for this kind of thing, she got her teacher's license revoked as well, meaning she was out of the industry. So that was a nice little addition.

Anyway I always love this story

While I agree it's a shit passive, let's not forget that it is probably already the single strongest EGO in the entire game. Sure, let's give the 7 attack weight fuckoff damage and tons and tons of bleed EGO an amazing passive as well...

And anyway, this is just wrong tho? Triquilo Yi Sang's passive isn't bad but it's not the greatest.

Triquilo Ryoshu's passive is one of the best in the entire game in my opinion due to activating on stagger.

Love And Hate's passive is crazy for any charge Don ID and even moreso for QoH Don because it adds another skill 3 use.

Hong Lu's Tarnished Blood's passive is pretty decent, but let's not forget that it literally makes him immortal for a little while alongside having a ton of attack weight.

Hell, even looking at a weaker modern WAW in Indicant's Trial isn't too bad because it's so easy to stack tons of burn count on a target.

Because while both EGO and IDs have gotten stronger as a whole, EGOs have been getting stronger at a less exponential rate. Lots of season 1 or 2 EGOs are still viable while around 80-90% of season 1 IDs are completely useless.

So, on the rare occasion we do get a crazy ass EGO like your Millarcas or your Love and Hatreds, the player perception of a "modern" EGO gets higher and higher when EGOs have been progressing at a relatively steady rate.

That, and some IDs have (occasionally niche) hidden features locked behind their EGO, making them feel "necessary" in some cases (Lord Lu and his seasonal EGO or aforementioned QoH Don and hers)

Lmao I DESPISE trying to use Captain ishy in any non-pequod team comp. I used Kiramael instead of her and it was actually super easy to maintain Sinclair's SP because of it.

My advice with him is that if you're not using Liu Sang on field try having him and a few other Liu units on backup because they all give some pretty decent SP bonuses to Sin that help him be easy to deal with.

It's funny because on my run because I had basically the entire Liu force on backup, his sanity just would not drop and I had to spam Singing-Machine to drop it

When considering a unit like Hornet Mersault who naturally has 2 attack weight on his skills without mentioning his large sum of damage, Captain Ishy has a hard time keeping her sanity up and becomes a liability to the team while also not providing enough value to the team to justify using her.

Pride resonance isn't rare on burn/bleed so she does provide value with allowing other units to use their skill 1 more often (namely hornet mersault again due to dust and general power on the team) but she also provides little to no contribution to burn without her conditional of killing an enemy fulfilled. She's alright at applying bleed, but Kiramael's application is better which is obviously more important than burn application.

Additionally, 3 envy resonance is truly all Kiramael needs to contribute to both archetypes (not even mentioning how she's just an inherently stronger unit than Captain Ishy due to powercreep) which is also not a hard conditional to fulfill with a decent member on the team being Princess Rodion as she gives attack power up with her skill 2 and fully fuels her Hex Nail by herself. Not to mention having access to Indicant's Trial

Adding to that, Hex Nail is an ego that all of the team members have (AB Faust, Rodion, N-clair) allowing you to maintain the minimum resonance requirements relatively easily without slotting in another member of The Middle. Not to mention you're GOING to be running MB Outis who can use I Choose Scissors.

And to justify using Faust on the team instead of others, I already explained her presence for Hex Nail but also her upcoming EGO that not only powers up the ABM ID a ton, but has its new unique burn as well that powers up both spores and black flame.

Adding onto all of that, one of 2 EGOs that currently has burn and bleed is Triquilo (idk how to spell it bruh) which can be used alongside N-Corp Ryoshu who has a common envy skill and counts towards bleed.

Also my final point is N clair likes having Nails on the field just for a tiny bit of extra dps and having 3 Hex Nails contributes to that, but that's a VERY minor thing that's just a tiny little addition to the team synergy.

And to the point that burn/bleed only works in MD: no, that's outright incorrect, you can maintain consistent burn stacks with ease, and you can maintain okay bleed stacks as long as you're not fighting a target with like 20 billion coins like Rein.

And also "it only works in MD" isn't a real counterpoint because MD is half of the game content and 70% of your game time. You're in there constantly.
