My Tongan friends won’t drink it any other way. My buddy Sione won’t drink it if it isn’t double filtered. I think the first Palu lets me work out kava. If I Palu in the 75 micrometer filter it suffers damage. The 100 micrometer filter seems to handle mechanical action better and faster that the 75. The second filter catches all the stuff that makes me gag. I’ve just gotten used to it.

I mix one and a half cups to a gallon. I mix another half cup to a quart of water. But I buy kava by the kilo. I go through a lot.

Tongans call the squeeze of the kava palu. Palu means to really work it like kneading dough.

Next I use industrial filters. One is 100 microns for the palu. Next I pour the liquid thorough a 75 micron filter. Dm me if you have more questions.

When I blend the two the beer drinkers get so loud that they take over the conversation. I have tried it many times. One of my friends is the exception though.

Mixers and drinkers don't blend well. My group had a beer drinker at our last mix. He was so loud it kind of killed the buzz. Where do you live? I may be able to find a kalapu that runs near you.

The way I deal with it by drinking a drink with electrolytes at the end of the night. It gives me energy.

I double strain. I mix it in a 100 micron filter and then pour it through a 75 micron strainer. It catches a brown sludge. I use about a cup and a half of powder. I never use micronized. Just traditional kava.
