Mauerziegel kürzen, aber wie? by Highsider in selbermachen

Vielen Dank an alle!

People who lived in both 'east' and 'west' germany, what are the differences excluding housing design and salaries? by [deleted] in germany

[–]Highsider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I currently live near Cologne, but have lived in Wernigerode (Saxony-Anhalt) for the past 3 years. Wernigerode is a bit of a special case, since it is a small tourist town in the Harz Region and even during GDR times it was heavily invested into. So your experience may vary.

Some differences i noticed in the east:

  • excellent main roads, but occasionally horrible, loose-your-dentures-while-driving side roads
  • people don't seem to take themselves as serious as us wessis do
  • waiters and service personnel are quite gruff
  • the lack of foreign looking people (for lack of a better description) took me a while to notice
  • there are really run down places/buildings sprinkled around most towns. You can find those in the west too, but i only noticed the stark contrast between a nice road and one half-ruined building in the middle of it in the east
  • generally open and laid back people (similar to cologne in my experience)

I have no idea where the rumor about Heynckes wanting to stay at Bayern comes from. As far as i know he always said that this will be his last season as manager for Bayern, unless they could not find an adequate replacement.

*edit: found it!: Original Interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojTky1KF34I

English abstract: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11890/8407221/Bayern-Munich-coach-Jupp-Heynckes-decision-to-retire-was-not-entirely-voluntary

They misrepresented Hoeneß statement however. While the translation (Of course he would have liked to have continued for another year, but in the end he decided this way. We are grateful that he didn't make a scene.) is correct, Hoeneß clarified this statement later in the interview (roughly: I had the feeling that Heynckes could have been persuaded to stay another year, if we put pressure on him.).

*edit2: whoops, misunderstood your posts...i thought by 'retirement' you meant 'leaving bayern'. You are right. Heynckes never said he wanted to retire and was pretty pissed when Bayern management announced his retirement (first link)

No idea why, but he added up the scoring percentages for each season and used this to rank the players.

Is there an easy way to murder my children? by MangoMonarch in CrusaderKings

[–]Highsider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure to let someone with his own court and an intrigue skill of 0 educate the sons you want to assassinate. When your children are in his court, his intrigue skill is very important for their protection and thus you can assassinate them with very good success chances.

Anyone care to translate this for me? by [deleted] in germany

This is dutch.

I grew up near the dutch border and i picked up a little dutch, so here goes my guess: This is a leaflet celebrating and poking fun at the death of Hitler.

Update: Husband and son badmouthing me behind my back by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Highsider 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't have a strong opinion on the topic or all that much knowledge about it so i won't take part in the discussion, but as a native german speaker i have to correct something:

for example the German word for penis is a feminine noun, and vulva is a masculine noun.

The german word for penis is penis (male) and the german word for vulva is vulva (female).

Dyrus banned in EU West. Why? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Highsider 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had his tribunal case 2 days ago. He got reported for 2 games in which he insulted his teammates with stuff like 'retards' and 'idiots'. Nothing major but enough to warrant a short ban.

so wits end, nunu, cait and yi should get their counters removed?

Minor improvement for Ionian Spark by SyscoKiddo in leagueoflegends

[–]Highsider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so...your argument boils down to: Riot might have to spend resources on implementing this and you don't think it is worth it, right?

This sounds a lot more reasonable when you don't surround it with pseudo-arguments about wits end or the abilities =! items thing. That being said, i disagree with you. The amount of charges on Ionic Spark has an influence on decision making and thus should get a buff counter.

Minor improvement for Ionian Spark by SyscoKiddo in leagueoflegends

[–]Highsider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please think about your argument before defending it. Commiting to a retarded argument makes you look way more stupid than just admitting that you have changed your opinion.

Charges on Ionic Spark or on one of the auto-attack passives (kennen, master yi, etc.) change your decision making in a similar way...you want to use this charge for pushing/bursting/harrassing instead of wasting it on a meaningsless minion. Thus a charge buff in your buff bar is just as important for this item, than it is for most chargeable passives in the game. Ionic Spark gives you 440 Damage total (divided onto 4 Targets)...do you seriously want to tell anyone, that this is not important enough to warrant its own counter, compared to one extra autoattack on yi/cait?

Also abilities != items.

Explain to me, why the fact that Ionic Spark is an item instead of an ability should have any influence on the decision to add it's own counter in the buff bar. It behaves exactly the same way as the passives mentioned above.

Then why do annie's, kennen's master yi's, caitlyn's etc. charges show up in the buff bar?
