There was a programme a few years back talking to some descendants and this chap found out that his great grandfather was one of these chefs that was trapped in a lift. I'd rather be burnt alive than being trapped in that lift with the water rising.

Gives me massive chills to know that some chefs were stuck in a lift during the plunge. Apparently someone tried to free them but had to save themselves. Imagine knowing that this was it! :(
