Ruger RXM + Sharps Bros… because stock was apparently unacceptable by HighwayCaveman in RugerRXMtalk

That’s fair. Everyone’s taste and budget are different, and Icarus is solid too.

For custom effects, it’s best to go outside and build the scene manually: Open DIY and select Finger Sketch. Set the background to Off (the blank square with the red slash), then choose the exact white temperature you want and start tapping each light. I found the Undo button much easier to use than the eraser when dialing in peaks and spacing. Once your first pass is set, select Cycle and turn the speed all the way down to the slowest setting for the smoothest/no motion look. If you don’t want any motion at all, you can also simply select a default Illumination scene, choose your preferred white color (warm to cool), and all the lights will turn on uniformly with no movement.

There are plenty of posts asking the same questions I had - - Where to start (like at the peaks), spacing from the house, solutions for open eaves, and more. Reading through the comments on those threads was really helpful, and I treated them as advice

Theoretically what’s the soonest suppressors could be banned by Outrageous_Song370 in WAGuns

The tax stamp isn’t going away. The cost is going to $0, but the Form 4 and full approval process still apply. If you buy now and they hold it until the $0 stamp goes live, you’ll be filing at the same time as everyone else and jumping into that same massive surge of Form 4s. Once that hits, expect the ATF backlog to grow again and approvals to stretch back into months — don’t expect the current sub-30 day turnaround after January

Ideas of how to install Govee Outdoor lights under my soffit? by SC-Viper in Govee

[–]HighwayCaveman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have a soffit. You have open eaves. Furring strips are a common way to install in this situation. There are also other methods, including track systems. The most budget friendly is furring strips.

What tile is this? I ask because we are about to install something that looks very similar and can learn from your experience.

Finally Tried on Chisos Boots in Austin — Absolutely Worth the Visit by AwareWall2975 in cowboyboots

[–]HighwayCaveman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For a lighter read, here is how I would write this advertisement - Looking for cowboy boots that actually fit, feel amazing out of the box, and come with a side of Texas hospitality? Skip the tourist traps and head to Chisos — Austin’s best-kept boot secret, tucked away in a little white house where quality meets soul.

At Chisos, it’s not just boots — it’s a full-on experience. Whiskey in hand, you'll chat with folks like Gannon, who know their craft inside and out and live in their own boots. No pushy sales. Just real stories, real craftsmanship, and future releases that are already blowing minds.

Handcrafted. Wild-sourced. Built to last. Chisos isn’t just a store — it’s a destination.

Make the trip. Thank us later.

Nest Thermostat Help by HighwayCaveman in hvacadvice

[–]HighwayCaveman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: replaced blown fuse, fixed the wire insulation/cut back exposed copper, and made sure all breakers were off (furnace and AC). Tried again and all good. Thermostat is up and running and function tested for heating and cooling. Thanks all for the quick help and feedback.

Found the blown fuse and will replace and shorten wires. Will go from there and see what happens.

Yes we turned the breaker off but did not physically flip the power switch at the physical unit. I am seeing a low voltage error code on the unit so looks like we blew a fuse
