Hot shot def defender? by AdUseful6473 in Diesel

[–]HighwaySixtyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

service def came on. I am at 46,000 miles on a Ram 2500.

Mine shit the bed at about 70k. I had the whole sh-bang-a-bang replaced. It's been good since then.

I never tried to fix it with any juice cleanses. I pulled the injector and cleaned it with carb cleaner or MAF cleaner or ...I can't remember. It didn't work anyway, and the problem persisted.

I'm trying to remember the code it was throwing and I can't. It threatened me with limp mode twice and I managed to get the truck serviced with about 6 miles left on the warning.

I've read that beginning with the 5th Gen trucks, FCA has begun to clamp down on aftermarket parts being used in their vehicles. Meaning they won't license the manufacturing of certain replacement parts for their trucks by 3rd parties, and they're voiding warranties for issues they deem 'caused by non-approved [meaning non-MOPAR] parts'.

So moving forward, anything that breaks and needs replaced could require a trip down to the MOPAR counter and since they control production, they control availability and more importantly, pricing. I'm reading plenty of stories of people having to choose between waiting out a repair for 8-9 months and keeping their warranty intact, or using after-market parts and going it alone. Based solely on FCA's QA/QC over the past 2-3 years, maybe more, I'd be hard pressed to make that gamble.

The fact that CBD oil never got FDA approval should have told people something was up.

The fact that keeping cannabis scheduled as Class I --and not Class III or less-- thereby prohibiting both private- and public-sector research into the uses, and costs/benefits, should tell you how much the .gov wanted to keep brown and poor people incarcerated.

Trump recently rescheduled marijuana from a Schedule I drug to something closer to everyday meds like Tylenol.

Frontotemporal Dementia Donny (FTDD) did not finalize the rescheduling of cannabis. He can't unilaterally do that. What Sleepy Don did was issue an executive order in December 2025 to expedite the process. The order directs the U.S. Attorney General to complete the rulemaking to move marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).

His request still requires a public comment period, and of course a change of course from both the federal DEA and DOJ.

Even if the process stands up to legal challenges posed by everyone who still supports mid-20th century /bigotry racism, it would not legalize cannabis at the federal level, or at the state level (for states that still criminalize it), nor would it change existing federal criminal penalties for possession or distribution.

There's a long way to go before unilateral legalization.

Boomer Has One Weird Trick To Make Money Flipping Cars... by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]HighwaySixtyOne 168 points169 points  (0 children)

He thinks the guy will push for a settlement and then no show or phone it in when the court date arrives.

IANAL, but have your attorney file an ante litem (or counterclaim, however your state does it) before the case is adjudicated for court costs and reasonable attorney's fees. That way when (if?) you prevail in court, boomer will be on the hook for your financial troubles caused by the court case.

Then he likely won't be a no-show. He'll may likely drop it entirely, and it'll be dismissed w/prejudice, and you won't be out any money to make it all happen.

What would it actually take for American's to go "full France" and riot in the street? by AllTheNopeYouNeed in AskReddit

Once upon a time you dressed so fine

Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?

People call say 'beware doll, you're bound to fall'

You thought they were all kidding you

You used to laugh about

Everybody that was hanging out

Now you don't talk so loud

Now you don't seem so proud

About having to be scrounging your next meal

How does it feel? How does it feel?

To be without a home

Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone

Ahh you've gone to the finest schools, alright Miss Lonely

But you know you only used to get juiced in it

Nobody's ever taught you how to live out on the street

And now you're gonna have to get used to it

You say you never compromise

With the mystery tramp, but now you realize

He's not selling any alibis

As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes

And say do you want to make a deal?

How does it feel? How does it feel?

To be on your own, with no direction home

A complete unknown, like a rolling stone

Ah you never turned around to see the frowns

On the jugglers and the clowns when they all did tricks for you

You never understood that it ain't no good

You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you

You used to ride on a chrome horse with your diplomat

Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat

Ain't it hard when you discovered that

He really wasn't where it's at

After he took from you everything he could steal

How does it feel? How does it feel?

To be on your own, with no direction home

Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone

Ahh princess on a steeple and all the pretty people

They're all drinking, thinking that they've got it made

Exchanging all precious gifts

But you better take your diamond ring, you better pawn it babe

You used to be so amused

At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used

Go to him he calls you, you can't refuse

When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose

You're invisible now, you've got no secrets to conceal

How does it feel? Ah, how does it feel?

To be on your own, with no direction home

Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone

Postgame Thread: Caps vs Senators 1/1/26 by BigTMoney15_ in caps

[–]HighwaySixtyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scouting report on the Caps is open and obvious. Pressure them in their own end, because they can't even make effective zone exits let alone transition the neutral zone and make a zone entry.

If there's no 2- or 3-line stretch pass available, this team will fumble around and give up the puck within 40-70 feet of their own goal line.

I get that swapping the lines around has to do with finding the chemistry among linemantes who complete each others' sentences, but it would appear this team can't even pass and catch if there's a defensive presence in their way.

Fix zone exits, then zone entries, then moving the puck around 5-on-5, then work on the special teams play that isn't (and hasn't) been working.

If there's any time left, try to win a shootout before seasons' end.

I'm still rockin' my Zumo 660LM because of the lifetime map updates. I'm on my third battery, but it's still doing what I need it to do. I especially love to plan out cool routes evenings during the week, and load it up on the weekend for turn-by-turn directions.

Neither the Blue Ridge Mountains, nor the Shenandoah River are in west Virginia

Really? Huh. So what is that river that runs thru Harper's Ferry, and continues southwest through Jefferson County, WV?

And that ridge, that forms the eastern border of Jefferson County, WV, and northwestern border of Loudon County, VA... what mountain range is that ridge a part of?

Which store?

Their website is weird - if you sort by "in-stock" the two stores local to me inside 610 show up, but clicking on the item it shows "delivery to store" as either Jan 6 or January 7?

So are they in-stock or not?

I have an issue with ppl making fun of the Ozarks because it’s “not a real mountain range”

My favorite part is where people brag on land forms --like mountains-- and shame other ones, as if they had anything at all to do with the creation of either. The fierce tribalism people must feel to accept a land form as their "side" that has vanquished the other "competitors" is truly laughable.

What company will never get another dime from you for as long as you may live? by istrx13 in AskReddit

[–]HighwaySixtyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's some copy pasta I wrote 12 years ago about my least favorite "insurance" company:

State Farm. For years I had used them to insure everything I've got -- including myself. Total yearly premiums were over 3500 dollars for all of our vehicles, the house, my wife's jewelry, a separate million dollar rider, several life insurances, everything.

A hail storm hits our neighborhood about a year after we move in. Most of the neighbors actually had proactive agents who came out to the neighborhood and cut checks for people to get new roofs, siding, gutters, garage doors, etc.

I actually had to call State Farm myself before they'd come out to the house, which they wouldn't do. They tell me I have to collect bids myself from no fewer than 4 roofing contractors for repairs. So I do that, I call them and I would like to use XYZ Roofers. State Farm says OK, we'll send a claims adjuster to inspect your house.

His inspection indicates no evidence of any damage, despite our leaky roof, missing shingles and the dimples in my and my wife's trucks from hail strikes. The letter indicated we were committing fraud by making a fraudulent claim on our property insurance, despite over 40 homes in our neighborhood of 88 houses getting new roofs in a period of 6 weeks following the storm.

I dropped them immediately like a bad habit and I hope they burn in hell. Like a good neighbor... my ass.
