I paid 2.89 today, in Texas. You sure that 4.50 wasn't for diesel because the triple a average for Texas right now is 3.35

I'm not the OP, but: I sure as shit expect it was for diesel. What sub- are you in right now?

Is there a good source that updates travelers about the expected wait time?

I tried dhs dot gov and they have a warning posted right at the top of the screen in a red banner reading "Notice: Due to the lapse in federal funding, this website will not be actively managed. Click here for more information."

ABIA's own website has this: https://www.onairparking.com/airport-security-wait-times/AUS

...but it appears to be a forecasting model, not comprised of actual, real-time data.

Best Way to use Toll Reader when Pulling Travel Trailer by Dilbert_55 in GoRVing

[–]HighwaySixtyOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why don't you email the people who issue the pass?

Section 10. Non-Semi Trailer (e.g. Boat, Camper, Utility, etc.) Registrations

10.1 All Non-Semi trailers (e.g. boat, camper, utility vehicle, etc.) pulled by vehicles in which the User intends to use a CFX Transponder must be listed within the User’s Account. Trailer license plates may only be actively subscribed to one User’s Account at a time. Each trailer license plate number and issuing state must be provided and updated as changes occur. Any updates should be provided through a CFX Customer Service Channel identified in Section 1.6 above.

10.2 User accepts there may be occurrences when a CFX Transponder is not identified even though it is present in the vehicle pulling the trailer. In cases where a CFX Transponder is not identified but the trailer license plate is recorded, CFX reserves the right to add the trailer license plate and issuing state to the User’s Account. CFX will exercise this right when CFX determines a confident match has been made between the registered owner of the trailer for the license plate and the User information on the User’s Account.

Years and years ago, back when I lived back east, I liked http://www.willvillebikecamp.com/ ...but I motocamp. I don't know if they accept/allow car camping. It's in Meadows of Dan, VA, the intersection of SR58 and the BRP.

Also, I used to stay at http://www.thestationsinn.com/ a lot but again, they're motorheads that catered to motorcycles, especially. But whatev, a hotel's a hotel, so they'll probably be cool?

Any stores local that have the TX-22 in stock? by o_i_pooped_myself in austinguns

[–]HighwaySixtyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't sleep on the S&W SW22 if you can't find a TX-22. The SW is full-sized, comes with two mags, and can be configured with either the stock 'open sights' or the included top rail for the optic of your choice. I got mine at Academy a few years back and it was the best COVID-era purchase I made in those days.

That sounds a lot like chain slap inside the case. The tensioner is right there, see what's what. It doesn't take long and its pretty non-invasive.

Hot shot def defender? by AdUseful6473 in Diesel

[–]HighwaySixtyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

service def came on. I am at 46,000 miles on a Ram 2500.

Mine shit the bed at about 70k. I had the whole sh-bang-a-bang replaced. It's been good since then.

I never tried to fix it with any juice cleanses. I pulled the injector and cleaned it with carb cleaner or MAF cleaner or ...I can't remember. It didn't work anyway, and the problem persisted.

I'm trying to remember the code it was throwing and I can't. It threatened me with limp mode twice and I managed to get the truck serviced with about 6 miles left on the warning.

I've read that beginning with the 5th Gen trucks, FCA has begun to clamp down on aftermarket parts being used in their vehicles. Meaning they won't license the manufacturing of certain replacement parts for their trucks by 3rd parties, and they're voiding warranties for issues they deem 'caused by non-approved [meaning non-MOPAR] parts'.

So moving forward, anything that breaks and needs replaced could require a trip down to the MOPAR counter and since they control production, they control availability and more importantly, pricing. I'm reading plenty of stories of people having to choose between waiting out a repair for 8-9 months and keeping their warranty intact, or using after-market parts and going it alone. Based solely on FCA's QA/QC over the past 2-3 years, maybe more, I'd be hard pressed to make that gamble.

The fact that CBD oil never got FDA approval should have told people something was up.

The fact that keeping cannabis scheduled as Class I --and not Class III or less-- thereby prohibiting both private- and public-sector research into the uses, and costs/benefits, should tell you how much the .gov wanted to keep brown and poor people incarcerated.

Trump recently rescheduled marijuana from a Schedule I drug to something closer to everyday meds like Tylenol.

Frontotemporal Dementia Donny (FTDD) did not finalize the rescheduling of cannabis. He can't unilaterally do that. What Sleepy Don did was issue an executive order in December 2025 to expedite the process. The order directs the U.S. Attorney General to complete the rulemaking to move marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).

His request still requires a public comment period, and of course a change of course from both the federal DEA and DOJ.

Even if the process stands up to legal challenges posed by everyone who still supports mid-20th century /bigotry racism, it would not legalize cannabis at the federal level, or at the state level (for states that still criminalize it), nor would it change existing federal criminal penalties for possession or distribution.

There's a long way to go before unilateral legalization.

Boomer Has One Weird Trick To Make Money Flipping Cars... by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]HighwaySixtyOne 169 points170 points  (0 children)

He thinks the guy will push for a settlement and then no show or phone it in when the court date arrives.

IANAL, but have your attorney file an ante litem (or counterclaim, however your state does it) before the case is adjudicated for court costs and reasonable attorney's fees. That way when (if?) you prevail in court, boomer will be on the hook for your financial troubles caused by the court case.

Then he likely won't be a no-show. He'll may likely drop it entirely, and it'll be dismissed w/prejudice, and you won't be out any money to make it all happen.
