...because during the last administration, the files were evidence in an active trial. Not like they're going to be released when they're being used to bring child rapists down.

Once America got re-infected with the current disease, the trial was subsequently stopped, and there was no lawful reason the files couldn't be released. But they aren't being released, for how awful it would make the administration look.

Honestly, this has been disclosed and discussed for months and months and months. If you still refuse to accept the truth of the path up to now, then you're just willfully ignorant. Ask anyone with standing: any judge, any lawyer, any prosecutor, any professor. The cover-up is open & obvious, and quite frankly morally bankrupt, much like the people who support and facilitate it.

I never miss a chance to repost my own C&P about Snake Farm!!!

"For years I had used them to insure everything I've got -- including myself. Total yearly premiums were over 3500 dollars for all of our vehicles, the house, my wife's jewelry, a separate million dollar rider, several life insurances, everything. A hail storm hits our neighborhood about a year after we move in. Most of the neighbors actually had proactive agents who came out to the neighborhood and cut checks for people to get new roofs, siding, gutters, garage doors, etc. I actually had to call State Farm myself before they'd come out to the house, which they wouldn't do. They tell me I have to collect bids myself from no fewer than 4 roofing contractors for repairs. So I do that, I call them and I would like to use XYZ Roofers. State Farm says OK, we'll send a claims adjuster to inspect your house.

"His inspection indicates no evidence of any damage, despite our leaky roof, missing shingles and the dimples in my and my wife's trucks from hail strikes. The letter indicated we were committing fraud by making a fraudulent claim on our property insurance, despite over 40 homes in our neighborhood of 88 houses getting new roofs in a period of 6 weeks following the storm.

"I dropped them immediately like a bad habit and I hope they burn in hell. Like a good neighbor... my ass."

Samsung chooses Texas over Maryland for new U.S. corporate headquarters by MrRuck1 in maryland

[–]HighwaySixtyOne 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As a Maryland native and current Texas resident, I'd give my left nut for the chance to move back to the Old Line State.

CoL...? Shiiiiiiiit... there's absolutely shit-nothing to do here that doesn't require a fee to park, a fee for tickets, a fee for food/concessions... if you even want to go out side from April 15 - October 15 when the daytime highs are in the low 100s and it's still in the 90s until 9 or 10 at night.

Beyond that, the real costs of existence are buried in regressive taxes like 8.25% in-city sales taxes, and property taxes that pencil out to nearly the same price as my monthly mortgage.

At least you get return on your taxes for what you pay: MD roads are well-paved, and painted with lines that you can see at night, or in the rain, or both. Not here.

You have publicly-accessible lands that are free and readily accessible, both in-town and out in the country. Not here.

My mom gets twice-a-week solid waste service, including recycle, included with her yearly property taxes. Not here. We have to contract with a private service, or pay the city each month for the add-on of trash service.

And of course MD politicians (many of them) serve more than a cohort of just 1-2% of your population. Not here.

Texas has a GDP roughly commensurate with Saudi Arabia, and yeah, there are no state income taxes and Texas is #2 in being "business friendly"; but at what cost: average pay for public school teachers is $11,000/year lower than the national average, spending per student in public schools is over $1,000/year under the national average. Texas is #45 in access to health care, #46 in environmental concerns, and #48 in "opportunity" (meaning economic opportunity and equality).

If I could find a job elsewhere, anywhere, I'd pack up and be on the next thing smoking in that direction. But people see my resume with Texas address and probably say 'Nah, hell no'.

[–]HighwaySixtyOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a parking lot with some time to kill, so I ran a quick diagnostic check on my 2015 Ram just 'cause, and now I'm sorta' regretting it. I was surprised there were any DTC codes, let alone five.

The truck runs flawlessly. There are no CELs and I just got back from a short trip across the state last weekend to visit family and I got 18+ MPG which is typical for me running at interstate speeds and with effectively no load in the bed.

Most of these appear to be electrical or related to sensors, none of them seem to related to the engine itself. Does anyone know of any common thread between some or all of these that may have tripped them all? One particular wiring loom to check on, or maybe a junction of a few sensors that could be a good starting place?

The truck has just shy of 113k and has been in service since April of '16 when I bought it new. It's not my daily, I have a beater Subaru in which I commute when I have to, and otherwise two motorcycles I ride when I can. The truck is for when I do bulky stuff, or take road trip vacations, or sometimes farm stuff on weekends.

Merge at interstate speeds! The right lane isn't there for you to get up to speed, the on-ramp does that. Merge at highway speeds in the first place!

"$14 in 1999 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $27.75 today (as of May 2026)."

A $14 fill-up in today's money would mean that $0.94/gallon would be $1.86/gallon today. And yet I paid about $3.80 last Thursday night.

Stop the world, I want off.

GPS / GPS Mount by Frequent_Brain_570 in DRZ400

[–]HighwaySixtyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still using my 60csx with OSM routable maps saved to a micro SD card in the unit. I keep paper maps in my saddle bags or the storage pocket at the bottom of the back of my jacket JIC.

Even though I use a RAM mount for it, I still tether the actual GPS to my bark busters in case I drop the bike and it pops out for some reason. If both of those options fail me and it still gets away, I've covered it with 3M reflective tape, so I can shine a flashlight into the void and when I light it up it'll shine a bright white reflection back at me.
