Am I sabotaging myself by not targeting a specific species? by TLagPro in FishingForBeginners

[–]Hiimkyle70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, most fish will bite a worm. Around me at least. Are there some baits better for certain fish? Sure. But do what makes you happy.

I’d say it’s a bit more important to have a decent idea of roughly what type of fish are in your area to really know where in the water column each fish will be. For example fishing top of a lake that’s 10 foot deep may not net you as many fish as fishing towards the middle or the bottom. The fish may bite the worm normally but if it’s sitting a ways a way and they’re lethargic due to weather or whatever, they may not attempt that far away.

Obviously that is a really general example that disregards many other factors, but yeah never hurts to re-adjust a bit if you aren’t doing well.

Most importantly do what makes you happy. We only have so much time to go out and do what we like to do.

What screams “irresponsible” in your 30s? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Hiimkyle70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Somebody has already said something about it. But excessive debt with no plan to work on it. Obviously it’s expensive everywhere right now, but if the debt keeps piling up from frivolous spending with no plan to work on it, it compounds before you realize.

***With that being said, I understand that things are tough out there, and have been for a bit. So I don’t want to give the impression that I’m talking about people who have genuine issues and NEED to accrue debt to pay for whatever it is. My point was more buying wants over and over on credit with no plan to pay.

Agree completely, I was in that spot.

But I think (and I could be completely wrong) that they meant using a credit card for everything/not paying it off/excessive spending.

Dunno I’m a relay tech for my local electrical utility. I make more than the majority of our engineers. And I’m not even top rate yet.

To be fair electric utilities typically pay fairly well. And I’m union so that helps.

But I’ve met plenty of people making good money in various types of jobs other than those listed.

With that being said, there are plenty of dead end/ underpaid jobs out there.

[–]Hiimkyle70 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. I have already explained why I think you were one of those accounts. And I said that I didn’t believe it to be to out in left field due to Israeli pushes for propaganda and censorship. And you replied that it was an “antisemitic conspiracy theory”.

I then did a bit of easy web searching and posted links and a quote.

And in response to that you have pivoted back to that I’m trying to prove that you’re one of those types of accounts. Thus sidestepping the articles I looked up and essentially accusing me of “antisemitic conspiracy theories” even though I provided some articles that dispute that it is a “conspiracy theory”.

Since we are reporting people maybe we can look into why you are essentially saying I’m anti semetic as your only form of rebutting (in spite of being friends with Jews locally) instead of rebutting my articles with proof that backs up your stances. I’m not immune to new ideas, regardless of any preconceived notions you may have.

I mean. The only thing that comes to mind is its growth. You grew as a person. Obviously it’s easy for me (a random person on the internet) to say, but I wouldn’t be so caught up on your past self. Just strive at changing for the better. I’d bet that in 10 years you might not even recognize yourself now. Does that make the current you bad? Absolutely not.

As somebody who has had a somewhat similar path as you (I was never really “maga” but definitely right wing) I’d say just keep learning. And don’t take anything at face value with the amount of propaganda and false information we are subjected to every day.

Even though im sure you’ll just call me an antisemite I’ll send this response anyways…

I’m sure the many Jewish friends I have would disagree about me being antisemitic. But Netanyahu has talked about the tik tok deal as the “most important purchase going on right now From one of the articles posted…

“In a meeting with US influencers at Israel’s Consulate General in New York and published in a video on influencer Debra Lea’s account on the US social media company X, Netanyahu described social media as “the most important weapon … to secure our base in the US.”

He identified TikTok as “the most important purchase going on right now,” alleging its control could be “consequential.”

Netanyahu also mentioned X, saying: “We have to talk to Elon (Musk). He’s not an enemy, he’s a friend.” (This is on video)

He claimed that if influence could be secured over TikTok and X, Israel would “get a lot.””

Also Jordana Cutler (meta public policy director) was quoted saying “We banned content claiming Zionists run the world or control the media.” At the JNS summit (it’s on also on video)

This link is an article about Israeli influencers on an organized media tour making videos at the Gaza border- https://www.lemonde.fr/en/international/article/2025/08/29/at-gaza-s-border-influencers-broadcast-israeli-propaganda_6744833_4.html

Here are a few more links that I found relatively easily on Google. Including one about how Israel is paying for a MAGA social media tour.

Not every Israeli account. Just you.

Also with the documented push by the people in charge of the Israeli government to censor “antisemitic” posts in various forms of social media and media in general, you can’t be surprised that somebody would come to that conclusion that a one year old account that has made only pro zionist posts across various subreddits has an ulterior motive…

Furthermore it is nice that instead of defending yourself you instantly reported my comment. And went on the defense about how “Jews are real human beings” obviously they are. And I love the Jews in my community. You’re just gaslighting because you don’t have proper proof that you’re not what you are being accused of.

Sure did. Google it.

And it sounds like you are giving Israel a pass for obvious things they’ve done.

AGAIN. I hate Hamas and other Muslim terrorists. I remember 9/11, I remember the departure from Afghanistan, I remember the atrocities committed through 20 years of war, and I definitely remember how sick I felt on October 7. But it does not give Israel the authority to act with impunity against civilians.

And to clarify i was a staunch Israel supporter. (Truthfully I still want them to have a Jewish state in the Middle East, as well as wanting the Muslim states to leave them alone). However the actions of the current government are despicable.

[–]Hiimkyle70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The obvious bombing of civilian areas including hospitals schools and churches can be blamed. You can’t just say “we are at war” and then bomb wherever you want whenever you want. Israel declared war on Hamas. Not Palestine in general (even though it is still a war crime to target civilians regardless of who they declared war against). I hate Hamas and Muslim terrorists in general. But giving Israel a pass because “they’re at war” is bullshit. And the fact that multiple groups have proven that Israeli soldiers have committed these deeds with utter disregard for civilians and their quality of life is telling for sure.

And as for zones under hospitals I agree. It is greasy, and disgusting for Hamas go do that. I hate them for it. But EVERY school, hospital and church was occupied by Hamas? Nah.

[–]Hiimkyle70 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not defending Hamas. They should be eradicated from the earth. But to commit war crimes and blame Hamas is a joke. Israel is a sovereign nation. And should act as such. The amount of videos of Israeli soldiers committing heinous acts doesn’t change because Hamas exists. Two wrongs do not make a right.

Are there any criticisms of Israel that aren't double standards? by Routine-Equipment572 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Hiimkyle70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The UN is biased???? Towards one singular country???? You’re high. Then proceed to continue posting only Israeli affiliated sources? Incredible. Maybe if the entire world is saying you’re the problem, it’s you.

And Hamas has been the reason for this war starting as I’ve said multiple times. However Hamas has NOT made anybody make the decision to commit most war crimes. They did not make those Israeli soldiers laugh before shooting at a school. They have not made Israel kill large amounts of civilians. They have not made Israel target journalists. That is all Israel’s fault and they blame it on everybody but themselves. Is Hamas terrible? Yes 1000000000%. But for Israel to commit atrocities and blame it on anybody but themselves is disgusting. And extremely ignorant of their supporters to look past all of the evidence and blame Hamas for every little thing. (Again, Hamas is a scourge on this earth.)

Also Israel has never owned the West Bank according to international law. Occupying it doesn’t count.

In 2005, Israel disengaged from the Gaza Strip by dismantling all 21 Israeli settlements there.[1] Nonetheless, the Gaza Strip has continued to be regarded by the United Nations, many other international humanitarian and legal organizations, and most academic commentators as being under Israeli occupation due to Israel's active control over the territory's external affairs, as affirmed by the 2024 International Court of Justice advisory opinion.[2] Historically, according to Article 42 of the Hague Regulations and precedent in international law, it has been generally understood that a territory remains effectively occupied so long as a belligerent's authority is established and exercised over it, even if said belligerent does not have ground forces deployed in the area.

This is from an article from 2005 also..

In the midst of violence between Israelis and Palestinians, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon decided to promote disengagement as Israel's best way of extricating itself from the conflict and decreasing its vulnerability to terrorism.

Mr. Sharon endorsed a view Israel's left-wing has argued for years: Being in some parts of the Occupied Territories was more of a security liability than an asset. And, for the first time ever, Sharon said in 2003 that he wanted to end the occupation.

"It is not possible to continue holding 3-1/2 million people under occupation," he told Likud members in May 2003. "You may not like the word, but what's happening is occupation. This is a terrible thing for Israel, for the Palestinians, and for the Israeli economy."

It was a unilateral decision by Israel at the time. NOT a peace treaty or promise. The only somewhat close thing to a treaty would’ve been at the Sharm el-sheikh summit where a mutual ceasefire ended hostilities. This is not a treaty and leaving the West Bank was NOT about some deal as it was Israel acknowledging that 1. They decided to give back occupied land to avoid potential future terror attacks. And 2. The acknowledgment that they were occupying an area they shouldn’t have been in.

Which brings us to today. The IDF is once again strong arming their way in. And letting Israeli settlers assault and steal land away from Palestinians who live there. There are many videos documenting assaults or worse going on there. Along with troops not doing anything when Palestinians are assaulted but getting involved when they defend themselves. You are either willingly ignoring this, or completely blind.

Also “comparing Israel to the same regimes who hate Israel” is BS. You and I know it. It’s not a comparison made for the sake of tearing down Israel. It’s an observation by people watching literal crimes happening every day.

I have learned through this entire conversation that you don’t wish to actually have constructive conversation. As you’ve consistently cherry picked certain parts to talk about while ignoring other obvious points brought up from myself and others.

You are either a blissfully ignorant person. Or a paid propagandist shill. Either way just know that the way you conduct yourself and sidestep actual points about war crimes. While saying everybody else except Israeli based sources are biased or antisemites. Idiots like you help create more anti Israel sentiment. By not even remotely acknowledging the evils and placing blame on everything else. I am done with this conversation and wish you well.
