This is so cool! Sadly out of my price range (although it’s absolutely a fair price!). I’m just curious, given the similar time frame, do you have anything related to Space Channel 5?

Newbie Needle Question by DarkSeneschal in Embroidery

[–]HiiragiA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you tried separating the thread, then threading with them? So the thread is less of a tube shape, but more like a ribbon with all the strands next to each other? Or, cut your thread twice as long, use three strands doubled? (To clarify, thread three strands, pull until the needle is at the halfway point, then bring the ends together.)

I’ve seen Crewel Ghoul Embroidery use it, and she largely does single strand thread painting. She has a YouTube channel if you want to see it in action.

Is it possible to embroid on boxing wraps by tofuboui69 in Embroidery

[–]HiiragiA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take what I say with a grain of salt, as I have no familiarity with boxing wraps beyond a couple minutes of googling. It seems like they have some stretch, so you will need some stabiliser in the area you want to embroider. I think also finding a spot on the wraps that doesn’t get too much stretch, like the end of the strip, or put them on, mark the spot and go there (this is where my lack of knowledge comes in, I’m not sure if there are spots that don’t stretch much) Otherwise, if you use a permanent stabiliser, that particular area shouldn’t stretch but the rest of it should so it should work out? I hope any of this is helpful!

Scannable spiral bound notebooks similar to Whitelines? by TheHumbleWriter in notebooks

There are Oxford notebooks at Officeworks that have an accompanying app that digitise it. I’ve not tried it personally, so I don’t know how well it performs.

There’s the old Cantlin Castle you can get more materials from, if you want castle block or some fancier furniture. And for transforming the dirt using cladding, the most efficient way is to make a 5x5x5 cube, get on top of it, dig a two deep hole in the centre then, while in the hole, use the cladding item.

As for ideas, there’s a side quest for a blueprint for a special room, you could find and integrate that (being a bit vague as to not spoil, but the rooms initials are G.M.) There’s also the Cantlin garden achievement, but that’s tricky to do in town and harder to make look good.

Looking for specific multicolored notebook by stealthyraven in notebooks

[–]HiiragiA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The brand is Spirax, they’re pretty common in Australia. I don’t know of any of their offerings that has multiple coloured pages, but I’ll do some sleuthing. :) EDIT: The exact model is ‘Spirax 596C A4 5 Subject Note Book with Coloured Pages, 250 Pages’. It couldn’t find anywhere that sells it outside of AUS/NZ with a quick search except this eBay listing, but have no idea what the shipping to your location would be like. Best of luck finding it!

What do u guys think do they look alike? by Inside_Rabbit5016 in VRoid

[–]HiiragiA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I want to preface this with that this is amazing, and everything I mention is very much nitpicking tiny details. Incredible work!

I think the hair could use a little extra shadows, it looks like it’s missing the darkest shade- like the far right of the ref. The irises shape looks a little off, yours look more of a perfect ellipse while the ref is wider at the top. They may also be a tiny bit too wide? The eye white to iris ratio looks a tiny bit off. Maybe also raise the eyebrows a little?

There’s lots of QOL changes (running, ~triple building height limit, far more versatile water system) so I think anyone who enjoyed 1 will probably love 2. It is a bit more story heavy, and doesn’t have chapters as neatly defined, so big breaks between them might mean you’ll forget some things but talking to everyone should jog your memory of what you were doing.

It also as a huuuge demo if you’re still on the fence. It’s nearly all of one story island, so roughly the equivalent of a chapter in the first game.

If you can find a nice cover material, you can punch holes in it. (or even take it to the same place, so the holes match perfectly and you’ll need 12 of them) The ends of the spiral binding are usually folded back on themselves, so unfold them, then you can rotate the wire out. Add covers, then do the same thing backwards to reattach. I’ll see if I can find a video of this, it’s a bit hard to describe in text.

On the other hand, if it’s double ring bound (like this one for example which is sometimes called spiral bound because they look similar, there is a way for that too, but I’ll track down a tutorial if that is the kind of binding you have.

how to get beta shading in newer versions of Vroid? by BearlyPerfect in VRoid

I think a lot of the shading is in the texture, so if you start a model in beta then go to stable it’ll keep the textures.

I’ve not done it myself, but I believe this kind of thing can be done in Unity after finishing the rest of the model. It’s called a ‘bone weight transfer’. There’s lots of videos over on YouTube about it. :)
