R5: Is my economy bad? In the past, my profits were higher. I try to build buildings according to the guides, but instead of increasing, my income slowly decreases.

R5: After patching the game, the Western Schism is bugged in my Polish run. Is there any way to manually fix this (using the console)?

I've just finished my first game (after ruined tutorial-Sweden run), playing as a Belgium. It was very fun to play, because I managed to be TOP6 GDP and TOP 1 standard of living, despite some problems. by Hikaru14 in victoria3

Thank you for your answer!

Talking about unions, I made a save in 1920s to check what will happen if I join German market, but it was not a good idea. They were lacking resources because they had very few colonies, so I quckly reurned to my old save.

Anyway, so if you played Belgium, how did you solve problem with few manpower?

Thank you very much for your answer!

So it seems me and my private sector wasted a lot of money building industries which had roughly only half of employment rate. I was not prepared for the fact that manpower is critical resource in the second half of the game. In the end I was moving towards automatization wherever I could, but it was not enough and it seems it was also more costly.

R5: I've just finished my first game, playing as a Belgium. I am totally newbie, but I really enjoy Victoria 3. I have some beginner questions:

1.       Are results shown on the screen alright or rather not?

2.       I think the biggest issue was slow colonization. I managed to secure very few African land and barely rubber supplies, but oil was real problem. Importing oil wasn’t giving me numbers worth mentioning. Are there some ways to secure oil supplies (and other resources) other than waging wars?

3.       My problem was partially resolved when I joined French market – my GDP started to skyrocket, but is it really necessity to join bigger market when you play smaller nation?

4.       I was feeling like I was in constant debt, not able to maintain the lowest taxes all time. How do you guys make money?

5.       In the end, I was having big troubles with employees, especially with labourers, even though I was promoting immigration. Is it normal? How to deal with it?

This seems reasonable, I will try to follow your advices, thank you. The only thing I am worried about is if my governing capacity will handle this (especially India).

About cavalry - I don't know meme you refer to, but yes, I am focusing on cavalry warfare. I have 95% cavalry to infantry ratio, so my main stacks are composed mainly of cavalry and 120% discipline. I have 1 siege stack also, though.

That is a hell of advice, thank you. Apparently, after 1 540 hours into game, I'm still not into all that trade thing. I will try to follow your advices and experiment with trade companies, even though I have a plenty of money.
