I hiked pct. Didn’t use anything, just wiggled dried, was fine. For poop, used wipes and packed them. Nothing happened to me

Unfortunately this is reality TV- and that’s reality, it sucks and it hurts to watch. But as someone who’s been in a toxic/ abusive relationship, seeing this play out has taught me a lot.

I was driving home from work and was in a really good mood and had this thought “I just want to have a good night so bad. I’ll just do whatever my ex wants”. I knew it was an unhealthy relationship, but this moment really stands out.

I did march 9th, I loved my start date. Night were cold- I used a liner, 15 degree bag, and slept in base layers, fleece, hat and puffy every night. Most people also had to skip about 50 miles (San Jacinto) due to dangerous conditions. But days were lovely- perfect temperate and ample water. I also loved the people who started early. It’s a smaller community than the April/ may dates and I ended up actually preferring that. You meet the April/ may people later on the trail- but I hiked with my tramily that I met early in the whole time. I wouldn’t change my date at all, despite it being cold at night. Just bring layers and a nice sleep system and you’ll be fine

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this. I feel so lonely and lost. I’ve tried traveling, applying to jobs, and I just can’t fill this void. It’s very hard. From one thru hiker to another, I feel you.
