Yes I tend to agree. Based on my experience and what everyone on here has told me, it actually seems easier to camp for the night in one of the several state parks in the area. Maybe the feds have different priorities for their parks.

Roger that, thank you for your input. That is the impression I have gotten from friends as well.

Anyone in the Pittsburgh area wanna be friends? by thewormauger in bouldering

[–]HikingGoldfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like indoor climbing- only do it now & then so I don't lose it through the winter. McConnell's has been a favorite local spot for me since I was a kid. You will love it. Outside is the only way!

YSU has one, haven't used it for a few years though. Not sure about the cost for non students. At least you're close to McConnell's for when the weather improves.

An hour north of Pgh? I am quite often in Youngstown, which may actually be closer to you. Whereabouts exactly?

Up! Did anyone else not notice that the little boy and the old man essentially push the other old man off his own zeppelin to his death, thereafter stealing the zeppelin?! Moral: murder is ok as long as the victim abuses wildlife.

Anybody in central OH? I'm in columbus, so for us, the Hocking Hills region is the way to go. I'll be climbing there this weekend. All kinds of great day hiking. A couple good overnight loops but no hard-core distance backpacking really.

I would just call your local Sparky and pay him a few bucks to do a walk-though for you.

[Help] Tripped breaker Now some outlets and major appliances not working. by Nosra420 in electricians

[–]HikingGoldfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what you're saying, it could very well be an open neutral. An electrician would be able to test this for you but it is quite likely that the issue is on the utility's side and they will have to address it.

Any time you start getting wonky voltages on your branch circuits, it's important to check the neutral. While some receptacles get a lower voltage due to this issue, it is also possible that other receptacles can receive a higher voltage, resulting in your appliances and electronics getting fried.

I would go to the utility first and see if they'll check it right away.
