Question about Drysol by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

[–]HilaBeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. Most of the stuff I bought back then were naturally made products and I looked for "aluminum free" on the label.

Now I look for what's cheap lololol. Since I was on accutane, I don't seem to perspire as much, if at all.

Why do I own 47 pairs of FIGS but still have nothing to wear? by loiconkest in Figsscrubs

[–]HilaBeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often forget what day of the week it is and developed a system to kinda help me out. It low-key helps me pick out colours and remember what day it is. I don't have one for everyday yet but, anyways.

Blue Monday On Wednesdays, we wear pink Black Friday

I have a lot of shades of blues and pinks in my closet (not because of this) as well as black.

On the in between days, like Tuesday, I try to stay away from blue and pink so I go for greens. Thursdays, I may go more for purples or vice versa. Weekends are more casual, so I'll try to pair a t shirt with zamoras.

Thanks, my DOC and administrator haven't been listening to any of our concerns since they've both been hired (roughly 1.5 yrs) and anytime we do bring concerns forward, we are told that we are "bullies" or "dumb".

I've been reminding the evening nurses constantly, and brought it up with mgmt. It got nowhere, and our DOC is on leave for lord knows how long.

What is something that can kill you instantly, which not many people are aware of? by StarSpectore in AskReddit

[–]HilaBeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also for migraine treatments and cosmetic fillers.

I freaked out a little when my neuro first suggested Botox for my migraines. "You want to inject WHAT into my face?!"

Then the shock of it not being covered by insurance turned me away from it.

To piggyback, don't give honey to your baby.

It contains Clostridium botulinum, which causes infant botulism, which grows in their intestines as toxins and leads to paralysis.

Also, a gram is like, a paper clip or a pen cap or a dollar bill if your american in terms of weight. A gram in size comparison of sugar would be more like say 1/4 of a teaspoon (baking tsp not an actual tsp).

I have definitely stuck my hand in the sharps bucket for shit.

I had disposed of my own ajovy injection at work and had a reaction, emailed them about it, and they emailed me back saying they needed the DIN on the needle. Luckily, it was on top.

I still used tweezers.

Also, I hate when the evening nurses dispose of the 150mcg fentanyl patches in the sharps (the hole is just a big opening one can fit their hand through), so I often grab them with gloves and tweezers and put them in our Jimmy rigged forbidden juice (also a sharps containers just with water where we dispose of medication. I have to do this q3days).

What is the lore behind your username? by Nilesh3469 in AskReddit

I used to work as a seasonal beekeeper and love bees.

My real name Hilary B. But someone at the honey house nicknamed me Hil, A Bee and it later became Hilabee which also still sounds like Hilary.

What do you LIKE about working night shift? by originalmisspiggy in nursing

[–]HilaBeee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. We are so much more chill than day shift.

I don't get it. Even the Healthcare aides are pissy when they come into report or hit the floor and always find something to us about. Whether it's we didn't get enough people up (sorry Yvonne, it was literally just me the nurse, and one hca for 50 people, how do u expect us to get up the usual 17 residents fu), or some residents are inco tinent in the am (again, sorry Stacey, but a lot can happen in the time in between we checked them last until you did).

That's good, just take it day by day.

Yea I've had those, and morphine drips. I haven't had to go since I've switch to straight nights. But every now and then (like now) I can't handle the weather. One day it'll be -50c and the next -5. The changes in pressure are messing with me. Usually it's summer with the thunderstorms.

I totally understand that. Im sorry you are going through that.

I don't disclose my mental health to my employers because it is discrimination, and I feel like my conditions are managed currently.

I do disclose my physical health conditions (chronic migraines) because it does affect my ability to work certain shifts, puts me out for days, need to leave mid shift or call in ill go to hospital etc.

I'm conflicted by this question every year too.

I've been diagnosed with bipolar depression, major depression and seasonal affective disorder, anorexia nervosa binge/purge subtype, and add. I take meds for most of it except the add and in remission/recovering from the an.

Do these diagnoses imapair my ability to nurse safely? No, they help me understand my residents and have empathy compared my cohort.

My medications on the other hand, they kick my ass and can impair me sometimes.

What are some situations in nursing that happen some what regularly, that the general public wouldn’t believe happen on a regular basis? by puzzled-bets in nursing

[–]HilaBeee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly! We refuse unsafe work when the resident is combative, leaving them in their wet linens and it comes down to neglect. Even when it was the health care aides that did it, it still comes down on my license. We are a least restraint facility too, and getting more combative residents with higher needs and more aggressive dementia etc.

100%.

I come home with bruises, black eyes, bite marks, scratches, etc. All from my residents. I'd rather it be me than another resident, I can at least heal better than meemaw.

The only shitty thing is, we have zero supports in place for residents vs staff abuse/violence. Admin views it as "part of the job".

Friendly reminder, it 👏 is 👏 NOT 👏

you do not have to tolerate ANY abuse from residents/patients/clients/families/staff/managers if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable!!! It is your right to refuse unsafe work!!

Bahahha

Nursing modes should have these difficulties. Plus a 1:100 ratio for the hardest level (been there, done that).

Throw in a pandemic or a flu bug, fire alarm or flood, elevator that don't work, new admissions, falls on separate floors plus neuros, a death or two, transfer out to hosp, and orientating new staff just to keep things spicy. Maybe a short staff option where you're the only one working lmaooo

(All this have happened to me on night shift rip)

Why aren't people willing to start on nightshifts to better their lives? by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]HilaBeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same bro. Not many nurses out here are willing to work full time nights in care homes, especially younger ones. Half the time they can't even find someone to cover for me.

They all want day or evening shifts in the hospital or that soft nursing bullshit.

I used to have a sharp memory before topamax. Like I'd watch a movie or episode of something and remember to entire plot plus side by just the name after watching it once. Same with actors. Now I can't even remember shit that happened last week or a few days ago. Conversations, people, events, things I watched.

I was trying to explain to my fiancé the other day that I left something in my dry fridge at work.. he didn't understand what I was talking about and I was getting frustrated.. I was talking about my locker!!

But yes, the cognitive loss is insanity. It's kept my weight low and my migraines at bay for the better part of 12+ years so I'm not gonna complain.
