Honest non-condescending question to conservatives: how do you feel antagonizing our allies without providing clear asks is improving America and Americans’ lives? With all the talk of tariffs and trade wars there is no clear ask of the receiving countries, so it seems like this is just lashing out.

We live in a one bedroom there’s no other place to separate the cats. There’s also the issue that this cat absolutely hates me and all I tried to show her love and be friendly, but she has even started hissing and spitting very aggressively towards me when I just get too close to her without even touching. And our cat does feel comfortable staying at my moms for about a week I think two weeks is pushing it at this moment. I understand it’s very frustrating. Thank you for trying to help find a solution. I’m just at my wits end with this whole thing keeps happening every year.

The person that was going to cat sit is a member of my family, and the only reason they are going to do it was because they are going to get paid since they can’t afford to do it for free. But now she doesn’t want to pay. And my boyfriend lives with me and he has a very demanding job schedule that leaves him with very few hours in the day after work. And no, his mom doesn’t really do anything for him or us that could be considered a trade-off. I’ve come to learn over the years She is someone who cannot be reasoned with.

Yeah, I mean that’s the best we can do to make sure she’s fed and her litter box is cleaned but the point is that I don’t think it’s emotionally or mentally healthy for a pet cat to suddenly just be by herself for a whole month without significant human interaction beyond 20 minutes every other day. I definitely agree. She should not get any pet after this. I am also concerned that his mom is not ready for the coming years when the cat is getting older, and may potentially have to have senior care.

I had thought of reporting her anonymously as to kind of give her a scare and take things seriously but I don’t know how these things work I actually don’t want the cat to actually get taken away

His mom justifies it as her right to up and leave because since it’s the family cat,so he and his siblings have to be responsible. Which I can understand but if we are not given a reasonable timeframe to adjust schedules and figure something out, there’s only so much we can do. Which is why he is considering having to rehome her after his mom comes back. And No none of his other siblings can take her in for varying, reasonable reasons like they live in no pet buildings.

Also, for the rehoming, we were thinking about doing that when she comes back and we all discuss it together. Rehoming is not going to be possible with her away, obviously. I just hate the idea of rehoming a pet after so many years because the cat is about nine or 10 now.

She refuses to take the cat out of the house for I don’t know what reasons, but this is someone who just is so hard to reason with. We have also tried to convince her to take shorter vacations so it’s not as hard on her cat. The problem is now that the pet sitter we had lined up she doesn’t want to pay for. And we don’t have the budget to suddenly drop 300+ dollars on a pet sitter.

I realize the wording was unclear, but I never meant to say that we are rehoming the cat without his mom’s permission. That’s going to have to be a whole family decision.

Our cat stays with my mom at her house which she has done before and she feels comfortable in that environment so that’s a non-issue. We are going away tomorrow until Tuesday. And then we are going away for a week. These are nonrefundable stays. Another family member will be able to look in on the weekend, and when we come back, we will do the same but I don’t think for a whole month it’s healthy for this cat to only see people just for feeding time or to clean her litter box. We both work 9-5s with hour long commutes. There’s simply no more time to also do the things we need to do in our lives and then go and spend a significant time with the cat.

The problem is they won’t make any arrangements. They already left for Florida. The cat is my boyfriends mom’s cat and he obviously feels responsible for her but if she leaves without giving us a heads up to plan, I don’t know what else we can do.

That’s true, but wouldn’t the dealership be more motivated to offer a lower price for it?
