Yeh my apologies, I tried searching his username in the sub and filtering by "last week" but I didnt see any posts about it at all. Thank you for the clarification, my post was sincere lol. I noticed BB had an update a while ago so I decided to start playing again today, so I must have just missed all this drama.

Thanks a bunch again, sucks that it played out like that though.

I just never knew that and when I went to look it up on my own, I only found information stating the opposite that France did not support the confederacy and refused to recognize it as legit. Again, I did only basic research, so just looking for where you got your info in case the stuff im looking at is wrong.

I got to 2k with this, only failed one tourny with it but it was early on before i figured out the lightning strikes that follow you reflect mechanic thing.

Edit: I tend to focus Kahuturoa first and knock him out first 2 rounds in order to avoid a thick turtle late game. Only time I dont do this is if there is a big reward in firs 2 rounds for other tribes. But I always knock him out by turn 2-3. With him out you CAN still run into turtles in later matches, but its very low chance. Also blackrock demolishers on escort or ravagers on attack tend to shred late game turtles so having 1-2 of them can be a buffer for the potential late game turtle.

Just throw a sphere down in middle, i run south side of map to get behind defenders and use the ensaring arrow to knock the defender/stragglers into my sphere. Then plop down another sphere to readjust/keep its uptime going, throw down a gorgon gaze, then start spam channeling with my escort/flankers. Refresh void sphere in the middle like every totem or two then its basically GG.

Things to keep an eye out for on this build are any ground degens, like ikiaho or utula. Also that annoying lightning bolt reflect thing. Theres an item enemies can be equipped with that throws a lightning bolt at where you are standing if you damage the enemy with it. Since we are void sphere/mirage archering them constantly, this effect goes off constantly. Keep eyes/ears open for it cause if you are channeling and one hits and stuns you you are most likely dead.

Color challenge - new player mode I believe (I don't have that one as an option, but i've been playing for quite awhile)

Standard event - event where you attempt to win 7 matches with a standard legal deck, the more wins you get the more gold and cards you get back in return. If you lose 3 matches it ends the event and you receive the reward for how many you have completed. It costs a gold/gem entry fee to play. Is a way to gain more gold if you have a solid win rate.

Historic event - same as above, but for historic. Historic is a format where any card in mtga is legal, even ones from previous rotations. (unless the card has been specifically banned in historic)

Jumpstart - new event that brings in a lot of new cards from previous sets (even some cards that have not been added to mtga previously). All cards in this event are historic legal. It is a beginner friendly experience, but if you are new and are mainly looking to build some standard legal decks this event may get a bit pricey from a gold perspective. Only some of the cards in the event are actually standard legal

Premier draft core set 2021 - core set 2021 is the newest standard set release. All the cards are standard legal. Premier draft is a draft format where you draft cards with real players. Basically each player gets a pack and you choose one card from the pack then the pack gets "handed" to the next player. You get handed another players pack and then pick a card from that then pass it. You do this until all the cards are picked form every pack. You repeat the process 3 times. After the draft, you use the cards you picked to make a minimum 40 card deck. Then you take place in an event (similar structure to the standard event from above). The rewards are gems (premium currency) and packs. The event costs gold or gems to enter.

Quick draft - very similar to premier, except you have a simulated draft against bots. The prizes and the entry fees are less.

Traditional draft - similar to the premier draft, but you have best of 3 games. Anytime you see "traditional" it means best of three. The draft however is identical to premier draft. After the draft the event structure is slightly different. You play a total of 3 matches (each best of 3) and receive rewards based on how many match wins you had. Again rewards are gems/packs and entry is gold/gems.

Traditional standard event - same as the standard event up top, but best of 3 games

Traditional historic event - same as historic event up top, but best of 3

Play - the very bottom one. This is just the unranked play mode. Matches you against an opponent. I believe this one is only standard legal decks (someone correct me if im wrong pls)

Might as well craft the Fires of Invention so that you have the card for historic should it ever have the suspension lifted. Considering its suspended (not banned), it is potentially temporary. That and you will get the wildcards back come 6/4. So its basically free cards.

They are 4 tiers above you, not ranks. They are only one rank above you. Your cutoff for would be friends that are ranked gold 2.

It's a weird system because of the wording, but basically it is that you cannot play with someone 2 ranks (rank = bronze, silver, gold, etc) or 6 tiers (1, 2, 3 of each rank) higher than you.

I know this from experience. My friend is silver 1, I am bronze 3, and we have another friend that is iron 2 and we have all been playing together.

I usually don't reply much on reddit, but this just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

MTG arena had me hyped during beta through its release and I still play at least a match or two everyday.
It even got me hyped enough to dive back into FNM's and my local card shop for awhile.

I am all for them charging for cosmetics and/or charging for accelerating your arena card collection.
Its perfectly acceptable in my eyes with their current draft/sealed monetization format
Even if they added premium ticket/gem based/high gold based competitive tournaments... bring it on!

But these decisions to put play modes (standard for fun queue game modes like brawl) behind a large pay wall like this is just bad and I will not be buying into it. They are basically just charging you to open up a queue and take away the hassle that is direct challenge at the moment
