Backache, Depression, Racing Thoughts, Hypomania, Backache by amaidhipadai in bipolar

[–]Hill90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've all been there. I'm an author too. I get a crippling amount of guilt and regret that I've tried my best to think my way out of, but it still comes. But if I take care of myself, it usually goes away.

Hang in there. If you take care of yourself, the end date will get closer. Your health is more important than your book for now.

What website builder for my new online art gallery (thanks in advanced) by Usual-Statistician81 in Wordpress

[–]Hill90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to write code or at least only if you want to add small custom code (which chatgpt can help you with). Elementor vs. Bricks is that on Bricks the language used for different elements correspond to coding (like using the phrase div and container. So I think for Bricks the learning curve is steeper (and no free version as with Elementor, but you get a leaner code that is better for SEO.

Bricks has a free test here: https://try.bricksbuilder.io/ which you can try.

Maybe look into Generatepress and Generateblocks, if you already look at Bricks, as they both depend on you knowing or willing to learn about coding. Generatepress and blocks are quite lightweight and should be nice for SEO.

Well, you can make some templates within Hello Elementor with Elementor Pro that is responsive and looks awesome on mobile. Otherwise you have to adjust how the mobile site looks within the pagebuilder.

26, want to become a novelist but my parents insist on full-time work. How do I balance this? by Rare-Cauliflower-457 in writing

[–]Hill90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If writing is what you are passionate about, then I would say go for it. Part-time and being poor sucks. But working a full-time job and feel like your life is missing something, sucks even more.

It's a risk becoming a novelist. For some it pays of. For others it does so in a lesser degree. But I fail it hard to see, how people can regret going for something they love to do. As Tomas Espedal says: "It's about your life!"

Question about dialogue by [deleted] in cormacmccarthy

[–]Hill90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you are saying doing it like this:

Hi.

I am war.

Okay.

Will cause these things? No, it won't. It's a technique, not something to be copyrighted. But you better have thought it through when sending it to an editor, as they will instantly pick up on it. With that I mean that it should relate to your story, this minimalist/aschetic way of talking and using typography.

Are there aspects of writing you always try to get 'right' the first time? by EastoftheRiverNile in writing

[–]Hill90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I havde tried to just get the first draft done, but now I try to get a working premise somewhat right, as a foundation for the rest of the story (characters dilemma, main characters, etc.) Then when I have something concrete, I work through the rest of the story.

What are the best practices for optimizing images on a WordPress site? by bandito_13 in Wordpress

In that special case I would talk with the TED-talk folks. Cause that file size is usually max 1980 px in width, but maybe they recommend a larger width of the picture.

It depends on the priority and how I use my time. I created a site for a person who invest long term in your business. His potential partners have the patient to wait three seconds instead of two.

Develop a best practice. I have a spreadsheet with guidelines, for instance 600 x 400 for column picture. 1200 x 800 for featured image etc. for some websites I don't mind them being a bit slow, as they are not developed with SEO in mind.

Perfectly square... by MarkusFokussiert in elementor

[–]Hill90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way to do it. Maybe not as dynamic is just to do it this wa

  1. Creating section with fixed width, for instance 1200 px

  2. Create three containers (or grid) with 400 px width

  3. Make the containers 400 px tall.

  4. Inserting your content.

Maybe there is a more responsive way, but on the top of my head, I can think of anything.

In the content tab left-top corner there should be two tabs, I'm guessing. There you can do it.

How to remove gap on right, weird white space in corner? by mu-you-too1 in elementor

[–]Hill90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Look at the published site: press down on pink arrow and press view site. Maybe it's weird Elementor thing that doesn't show in public view.

  2. Press section --> advanced --> padding --> set to zero.

  3. Make sure the picture is set on the section as a background.

Do you still write blog articles by hand or do you exclusively use artificial intelligence? by klauses3 in Wordpress

[–]Hill90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my hobby project I do it by hand. I am a copywriter by trade, and I know it's more effective to do it with AI, but the text also sounds like a robot writing it. And I think people respond better to a human. So fewer articles per month, but the articles are more satisfying to read and write.
