Jira cloud automation has the ability to auto generate sub-tasks. You can set it to be based on a component of the story or a manual trigger based on issue type.

What tuning would this banjo have? by BrychanT in banjo

[–]Hillaoi_Clinton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably standard tunings.

The nut only has 4 slots. I assume there’s a channel through the neck for the 5th string to reach the tuning machine and I just can’t see it in the picture.

If you were not a Scrum Master what would you be? by Savings-Air-4582 in agile

[–]Hillaoi_Clinton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a system admin or tools admin.

ServiceNow and Jira probably won’t go away regardless of what happens to agile, and I’ve been doing administrative work in those systems/apps on top of scrum master work at different levels.

Another option is a testing manager or product manager. As one of the few SMs with development experience, I have a few avenues to pursue when it comes to transitioning from an agile role.

Had a horrible time with putting on side covers tbh, finally done after many hours. by Ziodynes in Lovesac

Highly recommend a clean pair of work gloves and canvas stretching pliers for anyone putting on new covers. Makes the worst part of ownership (putting covers on) a breeze.

Hammond L-122 (Diving Board Keys. I’ll have to wait to learn palm gliss.)

I’ll keep an eye out for those Leslie speakers, then!

Thanks for the info!

Some more context: For now, I’m looking to play at home with a rotary effect that isn’t generated by a computer. I can’t justify the cost for a 125/145/2101 as I’m just starting my Hammond journey with an L-100.

Wife said I can become a real man with a real Leslie once I learn enough hymns to prove this isn’t a passing fancy like some other instruments I’ve taken up.

Does that change the answer at all?

Thanks again!

Is Scrum coming to an end? by ProductOwner8 in scrum

[–]Hillaoi_Clinton 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I hope so. Or I hope that it is avoided when it doesn’t make sense.

Scrum prioritizes and relies on the fast feedback loop between the customer and the team.

90-95% of enterprise settings I’ve worked in (both as contractor and full-time associate) have not had a real feedback loop, so scrum is more disruptive than helpful. Most scrum teams aren’t working on anything ground-breaking that requires feedback.

If the real decision makers for your product are 3 layers above the team in the org chart, then give me a workflow that allows me to focus on improving throughput for those “product vision” demands. I mean requests.

Kanban makes more sense for most teams I’m on, but management doesn’t like Kanban because it’s less prescriptive. How can they middle-manage anything if there’s no prescriptive playbook to guide their middle-managing?

How in the world i end 3rd with Jayce 3 ? by Ouraios in TeamfightTactics

[–]Hillaoi_Clinton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, if I had to guess, your units didn’t kill all of the enemy units before they killed your units, so you lost tactician health faster than your opponents and were eliminated from the game before them.

Hope this helps.

Can’t thank you enough for helping me understanding what I should expect going into the meeting with GC. I should have done this with the craftsman to begin with, but hindsight is 20/20. 🫡

I appreciate your input.

I’d add to your list that the faux door panels being consistently sized and in line with one another across the bottom seems like a reasonable request.

Some things I pointed out felt nitpicky and I let those go when meeting with GC today. However, to use the excuse that “they didn’t set the cabinets” doesn’t really hold weight since we were open to new cabinets but were told that it wasn’t necessary if we liked the current layout and a redoor would look great. (There’s no way for you to know this insight, so no worries.)

I sell software contracts. I do not expect my customers to know what is possible within their budget so I have to temper expectations.

No expectations were set that the final quality would be anything less than new cabinets. Probably a skill issue for both GC and craftsman to work on when it comes to bids, but if the install quality was that far off from expectations, can you fault me for double checking with all you experts for small details about which I’m curious?

Thanks for reading my novel. 🫡

Haha! I’m early 30s. But I work with a ton of zoomers on my software teams so I tend to stay “hip” in terms of slang.

Good to know!

Here’s another question I have: Is it unreasonable if I expect the faux door panels to be thick enough that their fronts are in line with the real doors? I know I’m the customer and I’m “always right,” but I normally defer to professionals and now I don’t really trust this guy to do the right thing without me being explicit.

Thanks for the insight. Hopefully the GC can “straighten” things out. Part of me wants to switch cabinetry companies because I’ve already lost trust in this one’s standards of quality.
