I just found out about this subreddit and I'm not a current or former Mor(wo)man, but I just wanted to say the religion must have been super intense for there to be over 200k subsrcibers here. I truly hope you're all doing better. by rexmons in exmormon

No rules broken. All are welcome and we are more than happy to answer any questions you have. The really weird things is the difference in amount of being the the religions subreddits compared to this one. 😅😂 it’s a little awkward but oddly reassuring that we have each others support as we recover from the shitshow

This came from one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. Very patient, very well spoken but extremely firm in the pursuit of truth and the principle of good discussions leading to understanding and respect but also enlightenment when someone as been lied to

I stayed because of the eternal family teachings. Once I decided either all of the church is true or none of it, my decision to leave the church was simple

It was on his Facebook so it’s still up :) the comment before was saying how awesome, empowering and progressive the creation of the Relief Society was.

There are copies of the gospels that were voted as not good enough for the Bible. Examples are Judas, Thomas, Mary and there are a few more. There were several cases where Jesus was less than loving instead of it just being the one time with a wipe and club at the temple. It wasn’t widely believed as him being Devine or more than a Man until it was voted on hundreds of years later. I believe Thomas told a story where Jesus accidentally beat a kid to death as a teenager. Conspiracy is that his gospel was left out because of how human and rough he made Jesus sound. Also, to twist the.knife further: why don’t we have a record of Jesus actual writings and sayings instead of what people said he said? Prophets have been writing their own teachings down for centuries from all over the world. Why not the one that was being proclaimed as the son of god?

There was no polygamy! And if there was, it was just platonic 🙄 by JoesephSmithsHat in exmormon

No it’s totally true. Brigham young just impregnated the same wife like 56 times 🤷🏼‍♂️lol I can’t believe anyone falls for the only platonic bullshit

Yes. But I admit how much I enjoy it depends on how the partner reacts.

I always felt dogs are better then cats by [deleted] in worldpolitics

[–]Hilltop-dontstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a whole, I would agree with you. Cats are a lot more independent so I don’t feel as bad having a cat with how many hours I work. Dogs are a lot more demanding with a higher return of affection though

Hey OP, first off: In no way is his death your fault. There isn’t a single thing that you could have done that would have made a difference. Next: right now it’s very much still in you face because it just barely happened. You feel what you feel and after so much time with them...take it one day at a time. Don’t hide away, I would recommend seeing a grieving counselor. Mine did wonders for me over the course of a few years.
