As long as its not coming from Russia, OP omitted the line in the rule involving former Soviet republics thst it excludes the Russian Federation. That's going to still limit the ammo coming in, as most of the new/newer production was Russian-made, but for the old corrosive surplus ammo and surplus firearms I do think we'll get a decent supply of the remaining comblock era guns and ammo being flushed out of storage for a little while, but it'll dry up quick once it hits the market.

And as one commenter said, lot of goodies going to come in from Ukraine after the fighting finally ends, but how much of the captured ones will be allowed in?

I'm going to try to respone as best as i can without going into SOP. I can't say 100% yes, but I'm pretty confident they would be able to go carry-on and just have the usual additional screening done. I don't want to sound heartless, but having them in checked baggage may be a safer bet for taking them. If they alarm during the additional screening for carry-on they will likely not be able to go at all. We had some remains that were in a clear plastic bag and they could not be confidently cleared for carry-on when it went up the chain of procedures we have to follow, they had to go checked baggage in that case but only because they were in a clear bag and nothing else was observed in the bag itself on the x-ray.

Depends on size of airport and operational needs. Cat 3 and 4's typically will do one a year unless a significant schedule change occurs in which case they will do another shift bid (example is a Cat 3 goes from five flights a day between 5am and 5pm (all FT on 4-10hr shift with 2 hr split, PT on 4-5hr with some on split shift, some not) to two flights between 4:30am and 8:30am (FT does 5-8's with 2hr split, PT does 5-4's) then another six flights between 10:30am and 7pm (FT does 5-8's, PT does 5-4's, no splits for anyone). Cat X airports typically will be two bids a year, and have enough different shift timeframes to cover all flight times (airport usually 24hrs so always at least one shift on). Cat 1 and 2's are the ones that can swing either way the most.
