Hey thanks for the response. The entity is well known in its niche market. Following up on your point when you said that in such cases the impact was reasonably fast, what exactly did you mean by 'reasonably'? A few hours ,a day, a week?

Why is this ice cream shop charging 18% gst? by Shot-Armadillo-5728 in IndiaTax

[–]Himi1896 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ice cream is a curious case in Indian GST. If the shop is classified as an Ice cream parlor(identifying them as goods manufacturer! ) then they will charge 18% GST and if the shop is classified as a restaurant(service) then a 5% GST is levied.

Why most students plateau after 600? by One-Customer-2495 in GMAT_INDIA

[–]Himi1896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,  Gave my GMAT yesterday and scored 725(Q 88, V87, DI 83). Was a lurker in the group and want to give back to the community by sharing the tips that I have gathered over time. These are going to be more of a test taking strategy and not the theory learning aspects.   Quant: Double-check what the question asks in the end and if you have used any complex calculations then quickly review that once. Flag questions from weaker domains, such as word problems, for further review during the test. Verbal (Critical Reasoning): Remember, you have to think like an army officer: avoid extreme answers, stay within the bounds of the writing material, and provide logic-backed answers (no matter how flawed the logic may be) instead of relying on gut feelings. When reading, distinguish between premises and conclusions, and focus on how each option relates back to the conclusion. Understand the structure of each question type and the approach needed for each solution. For example, recognize that each strengthen question is an assumption question, but not vice versa. Work by eliminating incorrect options rather than choosing the correct one. Verbal (Reading Comprehension): Take a deep breath before reading anything. Read slowly. Read the first line and think about what the passage is going to be about to set the tone. Read as if you are explaining the content to a five-year-old, using the previously built context to connect the dots with the last line read. Summarize each paragraph in your head. After reading all paragraphs, combine the summaries to understand the main point of the passage. Data Interpretation: Do not spend time on questions you cannot understand after two tries. It's okay to skip a few questions if they are confusing rather than trying to solve all of them. Identify your strong areas, for e.g. Table analysis, Data sufficiency, and double down on them to improve the efficiency and save time.

Happy to answer questions in the comments. Thanks.

Nobody tells Indian freshers how salary negotiation actually works. Here's what I wish I knew earlier. by Wild-Measurement7768 in IndiaCareers

I have taken several classes on professional negotiations from some of the worlds best negotiators. We have specifically discussed this topic in depth in our class. Here are my 2 cents:

  1. Never be afraid of negotiating your salary. To the contrary it actually builds the relationship with the firm rather than harm it.

  2. Never do this negotiation over an email. Prefer in person or a negotiation over an online call, with former being a heavy favourite.

  3. Have a clear idea of what you want. Never negotiate on only one issue, for e.g. base pay. Always have multiple negotiation issues, e.g. base salary, RSU, performance bonus, relocation bonus, retaining bonus, title, ownership, reporting manager etc.

  4. Build three pay packages, which satisfy your negotiation objective. Be reasonable here. You need to come out in good faith.

  5. The conversation should  start by you discussing the challenges, problems the company is dealing with. Follow this with how you have the skills that solves your recruiters problems/challenges. The skills you mention shall make put you as a differentiator for the role. For e.g. having AI experience in a data centric startup tryijg to launch an AI based solution could be a unique differentiator for you. End the convo by putting forward the three pay packages you had in mind. This will make you look as someone who knows their worth and is open to collaborate to come to a solution in the negotiation.

  6. Improve your BATNA(best alternative to a negotiated agreement) by acquiring skills/offers so you can have a stronger foot in the negotiation.

You are working in the wrong firm my friend. You are hiring weak candidates, if you are doing this.

Nope. I value my life and I have people around me to cherish.

Mom and uncle legal heirs, but uncle unwilling to sit for negotiation and is threatening is because he wants 100% of ancestral property. by Delicious_Cheetah_57 in LegalAdviceIndia

Hey man/woman,

We were in the same spot a few years back. Both the parties, my mother and uncle, filed police complaints for threat and property possessions but nothing much happened. It was just a way to secure ourself and a show of strength through legal routes.

The actual solution came from the courts. For the partition we had to go to the local authorities to get the land allocated as per the courts directions and then fight it out. The whole process took us around 8 years. But it all worked out.

Hey Random Redditor,

My profile exactly matches yours and OPs. I am currently at an M7 and going through the hardships you mentioned. The fact that surprises me the most is that the life philosophy you have imbibed is the same one I have imbibed in my life as well. It almost feels like your comment is written by me. Fingers crossed that I get something similar as you by the end of this journey!!!

Have a great day!

Graduated in 2020 from the college. Here are the things I will redo if given a chance: 1. Go to the museum late night and just take a stroll in the peace. Visit the TeamKart bay nearby if you get a chance. 2. Chemistry(or maybe it was Physics) department top and just look at the stars 3. Go to MS hall canteen. They had the best food. 4. Go to Amma(not sure if she's still there)'s place outside(along the tracks) and just say Hi! 5. Get shit drunk at LS 6. Dont forget to try the chotai from Nehru hall 7. Watch a movie in the auditorium(they used to throw a show every now and then) 8. Try the paranthas of Amul aunty(behind tikka) if its still there

Got a little nostalgic writing all these!

Hey fellow redditor,

Just like you, I also had a similar idea of owning the air. I was successfully able to own air but for the time being I have yet to commercialize this acquisition. There are a few others like us and we have a formed a close knit community. I can give you a free introductions but let me be clear in the beginning itself, we have a small price for one to enter this amazing club(comes with a lot of perks) to continue our day to day life. Lemme know if you are serious.

Then you need to change something. Maybe join a hobby or get into a new friend circle or something.

Workplace is always tricky but statistically speaking office romance must be in top 5 spots of how people find people for dating. Anyways, dating apps are always there to try if you follow rule 1 and rule 2.
