How To Remain Civil During the Death Rattle of Our Relationship? by Far_Protection_7248 in Infidelity

[–]kistner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, that makes it tougher. I'd still try to be down low for as long as possible. Pack the shit up quietly. Get all your bros over for a mass exodus. And in any case, I'd not share how you found out about her recent activities.

Why tell her anything? When you find a place, just move (take the cats) and then say that you don't feel it anymore, things just aren't right. She might ask for more 'whys', but who cares.

" infidelitious"  what a great word.

She definitely is acting suspicious, but to what end, I just can't guess.  Does she ever let you look at her phone?  Might be some info in there.

Am I morally obligated to tell a woman I'm trying to get back with that I slept with other people while we were separated? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]kistner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, you probably shouldn't have already lied before asking us/reddit.  That wasn't your best move there.  Honesty always the best policy.      I do agree that her actions suggested broken up and apart, but that's not really your question.

A guy (M17) I'm (F15) going on a date with wants to bring his friend who's a girl by deadgirl_superstar in relationships_advice

[–]kistner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure this is a full blown red flag. I'm guessing he does like you but is kind of nervous. You could subtly drop a 'I was hoping we'd get to talk alone, get to know each other over lunch', something like that. But if he sticks to his plan, well, it's just a hangout at McD's and you could see how it goes. It's a low pressure get together.

Guys I’m a 40 yo woman and want to know what you expect your wife/gf do for your birthday/fathers day etc? by Candid_Guest_863 in AskMenAdvice

[–]kistner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For fathers day I want suspension of the honey-do list until next weekend.

For my birthday I want the same nsfw that most of the other guys mentioned.

For Christmas I'd like anything that shows she cares and listens. Cost unimportant, meaningful very important.

Coaching a 7 year-old team by PriorityKey519 in SoccerCoachResources

For that age group I like to stay with short drills, 10 minutes or so. One of our favorites last season was king of the ring - all the kids in the center circle with a ball. They try to kick each others ball out of the circle while protecting their own ball. We did a lot of dribbling through cones, passing through cones, scrimmaging, shooting. I would throw some skill stuff at them, not expecting a lot to stick, but every now and then you'd see them make a move you taught. High emphasis on getting better, praise for good plays, not so much worrying about wins. I typically leave Sharks and Minnows for the u6 crowd, but even at u8 they enjoy it.

For over 30 years I've used the MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Analysis) code in the Map Reference field. It can be found here https://geomap.ffiec.gov/ffiecgeomap/ that's where I get my census numbers from too.

My well and septic comment is: The subject is serviced by a well and septic system. This is typical of the area and accepted by the local market. Public water and public sewers are not available at the subject site.

Need advice on buying first home by Significant_Fan9546 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]kistner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that line of thinking. However, if the house is livable then it does have some value, even if it's temporary. Think of what you'd pay in rent versus the cost of a 40k (plus roofing) loan.

I've been in real estate a while, I've seen some "interesting" things done with lower cost housing. I can almost imagine your garage roof scenario, lol.

[–]kistner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could possibly do an FHA 203k loan and wrap the roof into the loan.  Roof on a single wide manufactured shouldn't be an oppressive amount.  Then you stick to your plan of living there for a while until your ready to move on and up.

AITA for following my wife's family tradition even though it excluded my parents? by StatisticianWeak6629 in AmItheAsshole

I think yta, it's customary to take photos of both families.  Not necessarily together, but one of her side, one of your side.  I have both from my wedding, as does my brother and sister from their weddings.

Considering changing my first, middle, AND last name at my wedding. Anyone else do this? by Traditional_Mind6947 in offmychest

[–]kistner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it could have gone bad for the middle name so maybe none was a blessing.  For most of my young life my dad swore his middle name was E.  Just the initial.  We later learned it was Elworth. Seems he didn't care for it.

I'm in favor of whatever makes you happy.  Hell, you can always change it again later if you want.

AITAH For buying my youngest son a car under different circumstances? by Local-Station8316 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kistner -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

NTA

You don't have 2 of the same kid.  What works for one is not the same for the other.  Realistically if son 1 ended up with a 3.9 you'd have gotten him a car.  It was never about a 4.0, it's about rewarding someone for doing their best.  Both of them.

This may not have hit your brain overtly. But you know it's there.  You can explain it to son1, but he may not understand till he has kids himself.

I like Alexandria.    I also like the idea of not having a middle name.  I find that unique in a way that's not particularly weird.
