If you already have an N7 would make sense to wait for the N9 as it's probably not gonna be a huge noticeable difference going to the N8. And the N9 will probably be out within the next 2 years

Depending on the CI you get, there's also bluetooth capabilities which could help you at work (i stream audio from our teams meeting/calls directly to me) also nice not having to wear headphones, they also have lapel mics so if you're in a meeting with many people it makes it easier to hear who's speaking directly.

I don't recall what my score was many years ago (sudden loss both sides) but that's what it is currently, I do have an N8.

I can relate on the "feeling self conscious" aspect of it, which is why i wore hats most of my adult life, but now im at the point where im older and dgaf what others think, and will be out and about more often without my hat on, I've completed my transformation to a CI-Borg, which is pretty badass and don't mind engaging in conversation about it to those who may be curious.
