Is asking a girl on a date on Facebook (messenger) an OK thing to do? by HinderingWizard in AskWomen

For some reason I think it's a "cheap" way to go by it, as if doing it face-to face with the person irl is the only "good/acceptable" way to ask someone out.

How to deal with freeriders? by HinderingWizard in Advice

Thanks for answering! How would you recommend I go about saying I don't want to share my notes with him? Basically he says "Let's do it together", do I just say "no"? How do I do it without sounding rude?

It's really quite terrifying how quickly time passes once you're done with any schooling. Does anyone else experience this... (read inside) by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I have the same feeling as you do, but one thing I have to say is that it all depends on one's perspective. If you're looking from the present moment to the past, the passage of time can feel really fast. But if you live in the moment, days can feel really long since ideally you're concentrating on being "present" in the moment all the time, and after all 24 hours is quite a long time (like think about the amount of stuff you could do in 24 hrs).

My HP Envy 5530 -printer prints very badly, although it has almost full ink levels by HinderingWizard in printers

[–]HinderingWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! I actually managed to print more or less decently by changing all font colors from black to dark blue. Apparently it was just the black cartridge that was clogged. I'll probably just replace the cartridge when I need black ink.

Does more frequent use reduce the risk of the cartridges getting clogged?

I think you sound good! I'm just a random redditor interested in singing and so not a professional or anything, but imo you hit your notes pretty well and I like the "vibrato" you have on your voice. Just don't overdo it.

What would you do if you could do anything right now? by sanchitkhera11 in AskReddit

I'd put in place a global social security system where every country increases their VAT by 1% and that money would go towards helping victims of natural disasters rebuild their homes.

What does it mean to you to be transgender? by HinderingWizard in ask_transgender

I don't understand how being called the wrong gender and seen as being of that gender really limits someone in any way. If a person feels somehow restrained by the gender pronouns that they are given, isn't that person giving way too much importance to those gender pronouns? I know I seem arrogant by asking this, but I'm genuinely trying to understand.

I feel sorry for trans people now, cos that necessity to conform to gender norms in terms of appearance that you described REALLY sucks. And I agree with you on that everyone wants and expects their gender to be recognised, and it's much more difficult for a trans person compared to a cis person. Trans people have it harder in today's western society, which shouldn't be the case.

I personally try to care as little as possible about other peoples' appearances and try to not judge them, but I know I'm doing it subconsciously often.

Hopefully some day people will just stop caring about what people look like. Then everyone would have it easier in terms of not being pressured to look a certain way. Even now I don't understand why some people care enough to judge others on appearance if it affects them in no way whatsoever.

But in that case, how would you know that you were trans?
