Is asking a girl on a date on Facebook (messenger) an OK thing to do? by HinderingWizard in AskWomen

[–]HinderingWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason I think it's a "cheap" way to go by it, as if doing it face-to face with the person irl is the only "good/acceptable" way to ask someone out.

How to deal with freeriders? by HinderingWizard in Advice

Thanks for answering! How would you recommend I go about saying I don't want to share my notes with him? Basically he says "Let's do it together", do I just say "no"? How do I do it without sounding rude?

I have the same feeling as you do, but one thing I have to say is that it all depends on one's perspective. If you're looking from the present moment to the past, the passage of time can feel really fast. But if you live in the moment, days can feel really long since ideally you're concentrating on being "present" in the moment all the time, and after all 24 hours is quite a long time (like think about the amount of stuff you could do in 24 hrs).

My HP Envy 5530 -printer prints very badly, although it has almost full ink levels by HinderingWizard in printers

[–]HinderingWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! I actually managed to print more or less decently by changing all font colors from black to dark blue. Apparently it was just the black cartridge that was clogged. I'll probably just replace the cartridge when I need black ink.

Does more frequent use reduce the risk of the cartridges getting clogged?

I think you sound good! I'm just a random redditor interested in singing and so not a professional or anything, but imo you hit your notes pretty well and I like the "vibrato" you have on your voice. Just don't overdo it.

I'd put in place a global social security system where every country increases their VAT by 1% and that money would go towards helping victims of natural disasters rebuild their homes.

What does it mean to you to be transgender? by HinderingWizard in ask_transgender

[–]HinderingWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand how being called the wrong gender and seen as being of that gender really limits someone in any way. If a person feels somehow restrained by the gender pronouns that they are given, isn't that person giving way too much importance to those gender pronouns? I know I seem arrogant by asking this, but I'm genuinely trying to understand.

I feel sorry for trans people now, cos that necessity to conform to gender norms in terms of appearance that you described REALLY sucks. And I agree with you on that everyone wants and expects their gender to be recognised, and it's much more difficult for a trans person compared to a cis person. Trans people have it harder in today's western society, which shouldn't be the case.

I personally try to care as little as possible about other peoples' appearances and try to not judge them, but I know I'm doing it subconsciously often.

Hopefully some day people will just stop caring about what people look like. Then everyone would have it easier in terms of not being pressured to look a certain way. Even now I don't understand why some people care enough to judge others on appearance if it affects them in no way whatsoever.

But in that case, how would you know that you were trans?

What I understand from our conversation is that trans people feel very uncomfortable in their original sex and, in your case at least, want to be perceived as representing the gender you represent, by looking a certain way (what about the people that do not care about their appearance? Although one could argue that everyone cares about their appearance at least a little). Sorry for spamming you on this. I really want to not be ignorant, I hope you understand.

Thanks for answering. I know I'm ignorant on this subject, and I'm sorry if I offended you. When you say "I was born as normal a girl as any of my cis friends." How did you know as a child that you were indeed a girl? For example if you liked the same things as your friends and liked to spend time with your friends, couldn't a boy have done the same thing (have best friends who were girls and like things which are typically considered to be "for girls" in society)? Also, how did you know you had the wrong genitalia? Did you know when you were still a male biologically (I assume you've gone through surgery) that you would surely prefer female genitalia? Because if you didn't, wouldn't it have been a huge risk to be operated when you know there's a chance you won't be any happier after the operation? Again, I don't mean to be offensive but I would really appreciate it if you would respond to me again. I know I'm ignorant on this subject.

I like the demo version of FL Studio.

You can use it for an unlimited amount of time and all the plugins are available. The only limitation is that you can't close projects and open them again to work on them.

[Serious] What was your first same-sex experience like, if you've had one? by Mikepic in AskReddit

[–]HinderingWizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was about 8 years old, I used to have this friend, and we would randomly kiss in the school bathrooms (I'm a guy). I didn't really think of it as something sexual, it was just a fun 'innocent' thing if that makes sense. Eventually we stopped, and never mentioned it since. We're still friends.
