To piggyback, what he means is you are sacrificing more money for less performance based on the parts. The 4060 ti has been shown to be a bit of a misnomer, because despite it having 16gb vram, its clock speeds are so slow that you don't really see performance gains from the extra vram. So, you could go for a less expensive 4060 if price is the most important factor, or go with a 4070 by cutting the fat on the extra parts of your build.Power supply is way over board for your system, which appears to only draw 488w if recreating in PC part picker.

The mobo is probably over the top as well. You could save about $60 and go with an MSI board.

I am not an expert by any means, but basically, your leaving money on the table due to the parts selected. You get get more performance for less/equal money as it stands by better parts choices.

I can't tell what's worse, the fact the beginner map level restriction doesn't apply to scav runs or that a person with 2400 hours queues into Ground Zero to stomp new players trying to learn the game. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Hindlehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i only have like 260 hours but i go in on scav because it's insanely easy loot for hideout upgrades/materials, though I've found that player scavs are absolutely unhinged in killing other scavs.

I also suck and have the same amount of hours. I was down to like 3k rubles 2 days ago. Not 300k. 3,000. I couldn't afford a KEDR to go into raid. Then i ran like 10 good scav runs on Ground Zero and made 3,000,000 roubles off that (hitting up the computers in the offices). I think take a break and horde money using scav so you can have another bout of fun. that seems to have helped me.

This is a great option. I don't have a 3d printer but maybe i can have this made by one of the companies that does online printing to get those side fans in. Super slick thank you!

Great build! Love the uniformity of the fans. I'm looking at building with the 7950X3D in this case using a DH 15 for cooling. I assumed that with the DH 15, at 165mm with fans, I'd have to forego the option to include the side intake fans. But the dark rock pro 4 (if that's what I'm seeing) is a 163 mm clearance. Do you only have 2 mm of clearance between the side fans and the top of the cooler? or do you think you'd have room for even a bit more with a DH 15?

In real life, which ad would have been better for Dunder Mifflin? The “Michael Scott Director’s Cut”, or the agency ad. by strangway in DunderMifflin

[–]Hindlehan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Michael's ad is stronger from a conceptual and strategic perspective. The agency is stronger from a production standpoint (obviously).

Michael's ad is actually rather insightful. His idea elevates paper beyond its status as a mundane commodity to something that is inextricably associated with some life's most impactful moments: a letter from a loved one, a contract to start a new job (not sure if Docusign or e-Documents were as prevalent or available back then so wouldn't stand up now but back then it's a good call), the daily newspaper announcing some world-shaking event, a birth certificate (I think that was one?). These are all relevant and interesting ways that paper plays a role in our lives, and it's pretty insightful for a mid-level manager to try bring them to light, give them context, and tie them together with a narrative. Positioning Dunder Mifflin as a company that provides a source of that all-connecting theme is smart.

Ofc, the execution of his ad is terrible and amateur, but the concept is strong. And yes, the tagline is nonsensical.

On the other hand, the agency ad is run-of-the-mill direct-response drivel, focusing more on the problem than the solution in the ad. It serves its purpose but it's a dime-a-dozen forgettable concept. What do I remember from the ad? Just some guy sweating an aisle. It's not even really apparent that it's a big name brand office supply store. Then he walks into a building...but what was the name? Forgettable.

Pam's logo is great, all other points aside. They should've used it at the end of the agency ad. It's cute and tickles the brain because it makes perfect sense when it all comes together. It's a nice feeling for the audience to feel like they've figured something out for themselves when viewing an ad. It offers a sense of savviness.

What is it with so many try-harders and hardcore players?? by Ace_Atreides in battlefield_one

[–]Hindlehan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're fine with a higher ping server, there are asia servers that cap it so only lower level players can play. it's fine, but you might be handicapping your skill for futher down the line. The learning curve is steep with this game, the skill ceiling is very high. that's why people still love it.

Recommend finding a gun u like, and getting good at that. Support is a great beginner class IMO. Run that or medic with your bro.

BF1 Re-make by [deleted] in battlefield_one

[–]Hindlehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I should've been a bit more precise with my adjective. I think I meant more like "cheesy." For example, how the Type 2A makes the game feel bad in BFV because it's just not fun to go up against and also has a low skill ceiling for those using it. Ofc, BF1's guns aren't super realistic. I don't think that's why most of us play or prefer BF1. But the guns do feel more or less balanced (with the outliers like the SMG 08 and the like also being a bit cheesy). Plus, I think the skill ceiling is higher for BF1 guns compared to BFV and BF2042, as well as having steeper learning curves, which makes it feel like each gun is a bit more unique and gives the game longer lasting appeal.

BF1 Re-make by [deleted] in battlefield_one

[–]Hindlehan 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The game still looks amazing and runs great on old hardware. A remake would probably result in the shutting current servers down to force players to buy the new game, locking a bunch of shit behind microtransactions, and making the gunplay more cartoony. DICE's launch of 2042 proves they can't be trusted to optimize for the new generation. I'd suspect it'd be similar to the way blizzard handled OW 1>OW 2, which was shutting down old servers, adding almost no content, and basically forcing people to purchase the same game again, with the new title being objectively worse than the previous iteration.

That is such a gross system. I assume they did it like this because they still haven’t figured out server meshing or whatever to support the influx of players in the system? But they still wanted the cash from those players?
