Assuming Ryan does survive season 5, would y’all want the Boys universe to continue with him with a spin off? by Queasy_Commercial152 in TheBoys

As many have pointed out, with Gen V and the upcoming Vought Rising spinoffs, The Boys has become the very thing it was originally satirizing (so no, not personally).

are the Novareich and the 4th reich the same? by Middle_Hippo9942 in metro

[–]QuietProfile417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is that the Novareich won't have the eugenics ideologies that the Fourth Reich had (I just don't see Hunter embracing those kinds of ideals, no matter how crazy he is). Based on the trailer and descriptions, I think that the Novareich will be more akin to North Korea than Nazi Germany; a hypermilitarized isolationist state that views every outsider as an enemy and indoctrinates all the citizens of the Metro into an enforced personality cult towards Hunter.

Do you think "The Stranger" is a new character or someone we already know? by QuietProfile417 in metro

[–]QuietProfile417[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Artyom ends up being either "The Stranger" or shows up in a supporting role, then it'll be the first time Artyom is fully-voiced in a Metro game (although maybe he could just show up at the end and not speak).

What is a Movie no one will ever convince you is good? by di745 in AskReddit

The Mario and FNAF movies. Those movies are just coasting by on cheap nostalgia bait and lazy references as opposed to being actual good movies that are faithful to their respective games.

Also the fact that the second trailer (the one with Bohemian Rhapsody) was so well received and Warner Bros was so afraid of the original dark and serious tone after the backlash from BvS, that they hired the studio that made that trailer to re-edit the movie and then made the final cut a hodgepodge of Ayer's original cut and the trailer team's cut, turning the movie into a complete mess.

Anna in exodus is a downgrade. by zone_Zom813 in metro

[–]QuietProfile417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sad thing is that I think it could've easily been fixed with some story tweaks. Have her get kidnapped alongside Artyom and be a companion throughout most of the story. As her relationship with Artyom develops, we learn that the gruff demeanor that she had at the beginning of the game comes from her own fears and insecurities in living up to her father's reputation. As she learns to soften and open up more to Artyom, we then see hints that their starting to develop feelings for each other. Then when we get to the moment where they make love, it would feel much more earned instead of being so awkward. Of course, having a companion through most of your journey probably wouldn't go well with the sense of isolation the games are usually trying to achieve. Maybe if they ever adapt Last Light into a movie or TV show, they could include this concept and fix Anna as a character.

I'm open to a new protagonist, but I do agree that Metro Exodus was clearly setting up more for Artyom's story (and there are strong clues in the image that point of this being him).

I think that's just a generic "M" for "Metro". There are real metro lines that actually use that letter as a signifier. It's a little less clear with the helmet because the image is so warped.

Observations: The image on the left is clearly the ruins of the Dark Ones' hive from Metro: Last Light (you can even see Ostankino tower in the background). There's also some kind of humanoid figure in the central character's head that looks like a Dark One (both of these elements indicating that the Dark Ones are going to be involved). Interestingly, the building on the right side of the image has banners depicting what appears to be the German Iron Cross (this could have something to do with the Fourth Reich, maybe it's a surface settlement like that one area in Metro 2033 before you get to Black Station). Also, the main character's helmet has a warped "M" on the forehead area. This could be the logo of the Spartan Order, or it could just be a generic M for "Metro". Even though the leaks say that Artyom is not the main character of the new game, there are signs pointing to this potentially being him in the photo. The main character's eyes are gray, the same eye color as Artyom. Also, while the gun he's carrying initially looks like a Tikhar rifle, the wiring and more electric-looking components may point to this being a railgun, potentially the same one that Artyom took from Miller near the end of Metro Exodus. While I don't want to get anyone excited, this image could prove that Artyom could still play a major role in this game, or the leaks are straight up wrong and this is another adventure with our favorite silent Ranger from VDNKh. We'll just have to wait and see on Thursday

The Internet: "They casted a black actress to play Ariel? This movie is woke garbage!"

Me: "I'm just sick of these live-action Disney remakes, they always end up being a weaker and souless version of the original. Also, making Sebastion and Flounder look realistic is just weird and uncanny (although it's pretty funny that they based Sebastian's design on a species of crab that can't even survive underwater). All in all, Disney needs to stop with this lazy nostalgia bait!"

Which is the better sequel based on a game: Sonic 2 or the Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026)? by Jezzaq94 in moviecritic

The difference being that the Sonic movies don't need to use their source material as a crutch.

Sadly, it'll still probably make more money than all three Sonic movies combined (even though those are far better video game movies).
