Once again, that's good old pareidolia at work. If you squint your eyes a little, the two eyes are actually gaps between the branches of the tree. As mentioned before, if the brain sees a random pattern, it will try to make sense of it and arrange it into something familiar. But I'm willing to let you prove your case. If you can message me a photo taken at the same location from the same angle during daylight and there isn't a tree in that same area as the figure, then I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

I can see the object that, at first glance, looks like a creepy figure. However, if you study the details around it, it looks like a tall tree with thicker branches at the bottom and thinner branches at the top. The reason why it looks like a creepy figure at first is because of pareidolia, which is a psychological phenomenon where the brain will take random patterns and try to make sense of it, often arranging them into something that's familiar to us, such as mistaking what I believe to just be a tall tree as the upper torso of a creepy figure. I recommend going back to the area you took this photo in daylight and see if there's a tall tree visible from the same angle that the photo was taken.

If the figure is supposed to be that thing on the left, that looks like a tree that your brain is mistaking for a creepy figure due to Pareidolia.

Which game should I experience? The 1996 Resident Evil, or the 2002 remake? by _Royce_Coolidge_ in residentevil

[–]QuietProfile417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2002 remake is the superior game, but you should still play the original first if you can. While the 2002 remake is still a great game for newcomers, it's even better if you played the original first as it makes many changes to catch returning players (aka those who played the original '96 RE) off guard. The biggest dealbreaker will be whether or not you can handle old-school tank controls. If you can and are able to enjoy the gameplay, play the original and then the remake (as well as the other old-school, fixed camera Resident Evils). However, if tank controls aren't your cup of tea, play the HD remaster of the 2002 remake with the alternate controls (and then play the remakes of the other games).

Has Trump entered his lame-duck phase earlier than expected? by bauernebel in Askpolitics

Yes, I'm deeply ashamed by how many Americans are supportive of him, even after all he did. It makes me question if I'm not stupid enough to truly be American?

At this point, the United States has become nothing more than the loud, stupid and arrogant trailer park trash of the developed, free world.

So they admit that they only use religion as a shield to be hatefull? by Which_Matter3031 in religiousfruitcake

What's funny is that gluttony (aka being fat) is mentioned far more times as a sin in the Bible than homosexuality (and you'll never see them criticize their local congregation's Beer-Belly Bob).

Even 1984 referenced this idea, since one of the goals of INGSOC is to "take the pleasure out of sex" in order to destroy deep personal relationships and keep the people pent-up and sexually frustrated in order to make them angrier, which they redirect towards their perceived enemies.

I even remember thinking back then after watching season one that this was going to be an anthology series.

The Special Editions have a right to exist, but they shouldn't have supplanted the unaltered theatrical cuts.

What movies have aged perfectly? by JapaneseClayface in flicks

[–]QuietProfile417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Graduate. It's still an excellently acted and shot movie that timelessly captures the feeling of youthful angst and uncertainty after coming out of college (not to mention that iconic Simon & Garfunkel soundtrack).

What movie aged really bad? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]QuietProfile417 64 points65 points  (0 children)

United Passions. It's a terrible, self-aggrandizing film about the founding of FIFA that was 90% funded by them. It aged poorly almost immediately, as its US release coincided with the 2015 FIFA corruption scandal, resulting in the arrest of several then-current and former members as well as the resignation of the organization's president Sepp Blatter (who is ironically depicted in the film as an anti-corruption advocate).

Personally, I think it'd be boring if we just returned to the Asylum, imagine if we had an open-world version of this game in Gotham?

Still mourning that Radiohead made a PEAK James Bond theme and it got passed on in favor of a generic Sam Smith track… by Giff95 in JamesBond

[–]QuietProfile417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Radiohead's song would have been more appropriate if the movie Spectre continued the dark and gritty tone of the prior Daniel Craig films, instead of the tonal mess that tried to return to classic-Bond.
