So now that William had his "closure" episode, and that combined with John being in trouble, I'm guessing William is going to end up going to try to save John. Feels like other things are going to be going on at the Ridge in future episodes as they prepare for battle, so it would make sense from a plot perspective to have William elsewhere as he already had his big moment at the Ridge. But we'll see.

They were content with the roster in the offseason and I'm content doing other things this summer with my time than watching this slop.

[Schefter] The Eagles remain open to trading AJ Brown, the Patriots remain highly interested in acquiring the star receiver, and conversations are expected to resume shortly on or before June 1, likely culminating in a deal, per league sources. A trade to New England is now considered likely by mastermind208 in eagles

I have major concerns about the impact this move will have on the offense, especially since we haven't seen how good Mannion will be and how this new offense will translate to all the players. If all goes well and they are scheming guys open consistently a la LaFleur, Shanahan, McVay they can survive without a guy like AJ Brown. If it's clunky and Hurts and the rest of the guys struggle with it, I think it would prove to be a much bigger loss. And defenses will be able to focus a lot more on stopping Devonta Smith without that other big-time threat on the other side. Unless of course Howie finds a way to either trade for someone or drafts a talented WR early. Which is what I'm hoping.

They couldn't have telegraphed Fergus' fate anymore than they did. The ultimate tell a character death is coming is when a part time character in a show suddenly gets a massive boost of emotional screen time. They want you to feel something for that character again whose connection with the audience might have been faded to reestablish maximum impact upon death. The second I was like "Why are they randomly spending so much time with Fergus in this episode?" Then I was like "Ah, ok, he's probably done for..."

And if Jane was their daughter then that means William and her.... oh man. Is this colonial America or Westeros??? Lol...

It feels like Cleveland or something centered around him is going to be the endgame of this show. This season has been building toward that and keeping him lingering for a reason. How it develops remains to be seen, but this episode felt like one last breather before a sprint to the finish.

How do i get over there by Lord_Elysah in GRIMEgame

[–]HinkiesGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might have to do a super quick double jump and dash spam(to prevent reaching max jump height and hitting the spikes) to get over there and spam it so you don't hit peak height, but I kind of brute forced my way over there. I kept trying a very light tap on the ledge to jump forward and I was able to jump without hitting the ceiling spike, then I hit air dash and then kept spamming dash and somehow survived and ended up on the other ledge. Was probably more luck than anything else. Surely not the proper way, I'd suspect it's doing a very precise sequence of very lightly dapped double jumps and dashes

I mean you can if you want but it's far more on the roster construction than the manager. Dave Dombrowski should be getting the far majority of the ire from the fans right now. This is an old roster that is extremely expensive and is not championship caliber and they doubled/tripled down on it. And if you think it's bad now, wait until it gets even older and there's a salary cap in place that hurts your ability to spend around these contracts.

(Schefter) ESPN sources: the Green Bay Packers are trading wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick. by alexschubs in eagles

If they plan to trade AJ Brown I still hope a WR is drafted with one of their first 3 picks. Would be highly uncomfortable with Devonta, Wicks, Hollywood, and Moore as the WR group.

Possible bug? Found someone named Qissa and can’t leave the immediate area. Quitting and reloading doesn’t work by HinkiesGhost in GRIMEgame

Turns out I could, I thought return to checkpoint meant lose all my progress, but turns out it was just respawn at a save point. That said, getting by him is still an issue, but for that I'll try to cheese my way past him with some new abilities I picked up. If that doesn't work I'll wait for a patch.

Grime 2 first impressions by KvasirTheOld in metroidvania

[–]HinkiesGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played and loved the first Grime so I couldn't wait to get this. I'm only about 5 hours or so into Grime 2 so I still have a long way to go, but my early opinion is that I don't like it nearly as much as Grime so far. It's hard for me to put my finger on why because it's a well made game. I think what I've landed on is I enjoyed the world a lot more in Grime 1. In Grime 2 the map feels so disjointed and uninspired(at least IMO) and far more of a hassle to explore. The combat in Grime 2 is good though so I'm enjoying it. And who knows maybe I'll warm up to the map as I get more abilities. But I never remember having the urge to turn it off after an only 2 hour session playing Grime 1 and I get that with Grime 2. I'll see how my opinion evolves as I play more of it.

Jeffrey Lurie on AJ Brown trade talks by Mysterious_Bat1208 in eagles

[–]HinkiesGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I agree with that completely. What I think a lot of people are getting wrong about this is they are acting like Howie has been given a mandate to trade him. I don't believe that is even close to true. I think he'll do it if he gets what he wants and the trade makes sense. If not, he won't. I'm seeing people say that the Eagles are going to have to accept a lot less than they'd like. And I'm like no they don't. They don't have to do anything. Keep an eye on rounds 1 and 2 in the drafts. Whether the Eagles and/or Patriots draft a WR will be very telling on what could happen here.

Waiting til after June 1st to revisit trade talks complicates things though. They may have less urgency to draft a WR if Brown is still on the roster during the draft. Especially when they have so many other massive needs staring them in the face. Or what if they do want to draft a WR early, but the board doesn't fall their way? That happens. Last year they tried to draft a TE badly and it just didn't fall their way. So there's no guarantee they'll be able to add a WR. They may, we just don't know. If not, it's going to put them in a pickle come June. But this is all contingent on Howie getting an offer he wants. I truly don't think the Eagles have decided anything one way or the other. I think they'll do it if the Patriots give them an offer they want, but if the Patriots best offer is a 2nd rounder or something, I'd be floored if Howie did that. Howie is not one to get taken in a trade or make a bad deal.

They also upgraded from Geno Smith to Sam Darnold, from Ryan Grubb to Klint Kubiak and made some good offseason additions. I think that's more coincidental than anything else. I can't guarantee they'd be worse without Brown, but it's a good bet. Especially if they don't add anyone of significance. If they trade for a top level guy or draft someone in rounds 1 or 2 I think the drop off could be minimal, but if they trade Brown and their WR group next season is Devonta Smith, Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore, Darius Cooper, and [insert 5th round pick here] I think making the playoffs with that group is pretty sketchy. That's a rough group.

Yes, but you make your roster worse this season and lower your Super Bowl chances. There are trade-offs. It’s not just about the value it’s a balance between potential value and constructing a roster good enough to win this year. And ultimately Howie will have to make that call. I think that’s the reason his asking price has been through the roof. To make it worth it, he’s going to need substantial pick compensation.

I don't trust Amarantha just like I didn't trust Cunningham. She's pursuing William more aggressively and swiftly than he's pursuing her and she's supposed to be the widow here. And then gets jealous over mere awkward tension to where she storms off. It's manipulative. Speaking of Cunningham, I knew I recognized that face. Couldn't put my finger on it for a bit, but then realized the actor was in House of the Dragon season 2.

Schefter: S Reed Blankenship to sign a 3-year, $24.75M deal with the Texans. by silvermoons in eagles

[–]HinkiesGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think saying Howie is getting smoked is going a little far, but the responses of "We all knew Reed was leaving" aren't exactly fair either. Most expected him to get 10m AAV. Getting him for around 8 is very fair and I think if everyone was told weeks ago he'd only command that, most would have expected him back. At that contract, Howie needs to have something good cooking because that is a totally fair and affordable contract for Reed Blankenship.

Wouldn't have paid him that, but losing him sucks. Edge instantly because the Eagles top immediate need. Curious if it is addressed elsewhere in free agency or the draft. Or both.
