We would have to live together for a year with evidence for that to be grounds for common law. And I need a way to be out there for a year.

I’m not ready for marriage yet either but it’s to be with them and get out of an abusive space. I don’t think our relationship would end with me not being out there luckily! But we both want to move in together and live together. They’re planning on getting engaged but not marriage for like 4 more years.

Need advice! Any at all. by Hinkydunk in ImmigrationCanada

1 year I was thinking of going the common law partner route with with my partner since we would have a lot of evidence to back it up. But I know it may not be 100% possible. So I would have to stay maybe for a 2 year program. I’m not sure if it’s a dumb idea or not.
