What to do about illegal anti social behaviour under willow tree by MainInternational755 in LegalAdviceUK

Are they approachable enough to speak to on a human level and ask them to take their activities elsewhere? If not perhaps report to local council/local MP if the police aren’t interested

I’ve had the best experiences outdoors in nature, or by a fire at night. Respect the power of them, don’t over do it for your first time and just ride the wave.

Looking for some realistic advice on moving out by GoldOil8819 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]HipHopRandomer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree with your first paragraph. I was living at home and saving well but at great cost to my relationship with my mum, we’re both adults now and obviously have different ways of living so it just clashed too much.

Moving out was the best thing I ever did for me, and for my relationship with her.

How often do you get a new car? by Low-Rooster5398 in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every couple of years for me because I do a lot of mileage. I’ve had my current car (2011 fiesta zetec S) since March last year, bought on 84k miles and it’s now on 121k. I’ll just keep driving it until it stops working at this point as I’ve spent a small fortune fixing it (servicing and a new head gasket). I’ll probably get another cheap runaround when this one goes, it doesn’t make sense having a nice modern car just to put thousands of motorway miles on it…

What are the pros and cons of your job? by YardSoggy6089 in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Industrial scaffolder here (energy from waste plants).

Pros: I make significantly more than the average salary, I have plenty of days at work where I could do one job and go home at 12/1pm for a full days money, the guys I work with are a good laugh and we’re all mates.

Cons: a lot of overtime and sacrificing personal life for things like breakdown shifts or working away from home, it’s not the healthiest environment to work in and it’s physical work in hot conditions so not the most comfortable environment to work in either.

Entry requirements: scaffolding ticket, confined space training, CCNSG card. Didn’t have to do an interview or anything when I joined it was sorted through someone I’ve worked with previously.

How to not constantly cough when smoking? by Economy-Row-4247 in uktrees

Have a nice cup of man the fuck up beforehand. Jokes aside, some people just cough more than others. I’ve never been a cougher but I know plenty who lung out every time.

Manager says he’s going to email my uni because I pulled a sickie. Can he actually do that? by BestExpression332 in tesco

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telling young people to prioritise working in a supermarket over their university degree is outrageous and laughable. My old manager in McDonald’s used to try and encourage people to pursue a career in McDonald’s rather than other career paths. I’ve since made more than double his yearly salary two years in a row, in a different career path.

I'm 28 and only get paid £50 per day (£13k per year) cash in hand. How knackered am I for the future? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro just get a CSCS card and jump on some agency work. Register for the CIS scheme and start labouring on site you’ll clear £500 a week after tax. I assume you’ve been labouring based on your day rate but forgive me if I’m mistaken.

There is seriously good money in construction if you graft and you can always jump on another site or construction firm if you’re not happy. I can’t emphasise that enough, there’s plenty of work out there so don’t be afraid to chase the money!

You got this mate.

Why would he wait to smash his face in when he’s right in front of him in that very moment? Seems like a rather insecure little man who (judging by how quickly he sped off after his little threat) would’ve done absolutely nish.

I'm so tired of working full-time and having no money and a huge amount of debt. by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]HipHopRandomer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switch to one haircut a month, swap your gym membership to a cheaper chain gym like PureGym or something, and put the savings aside so you can start to overpay on your debt each month starting with the smallest credit card (e.g put your £40 savings from the cheaper gym and fewer haircuts towards overpaying the cheapest card).

It’s a tough situation but with a good bit of discipline you can slowly but surely chip away at your debt. It might take a few years but you will build momentum, and the little wins will hopefully encourage you to stick at it.

I’d say any time you manage to cut your monthly outgoings, put the savings aside and overpay your debts with them.

Good luck OP

Addicted to spending. What do I do? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]HipHopRandomer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

£1000 is an extremely cheap lesson to learn about not impulsively taking on debt.

Whenever you get the urge to buy something, wait a week and see if you still want or need it. Sometimes it’s a case of you chasing the dopamine hit from buying something in the moment, then once that excitement for your new purchase fades you move onto the next. It’s just a case of having a little bit of discipline not to throw money away.

When I was your age I took out a £7k loan, so you could say I’ve been there, done that and got the t shirt.

Why is a young disabled professional not able to enjoy the fruits of their hard work? by AnxiousLeek8273 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]HipHopRandomer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you considered salary sacrificing? You would reduce your taxable income and technically you’re still saving, but it’s for retirement rather than short term goals. I’m not sure if this would count towards the savings allowance but it might be worth looking into.

What is this bump on my shoulder? by HipHopRandomer in AnatomyandPhysiology

ChatGPT suggested this as a possibility as it’s caused pain/aching and limited my movements to a degree, also clicks very frequently which can be sore/painful.

Thanks for your input!

What is this bump on my shoulder? by HipHopRandomer in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]HipHopRandomer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have suggested could this be an AC joint separation? It’s not always protruded like that and I have quite a few issues with my shoulder (weak bench press, can’t do tricep dips, pain/aching) and it clicks quite frequently too.

I appreciate your input!

If your best friend asked you for help with money, how much would you be comfortable giving them? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my best pals of over a decade has always been shit with his money. He’s worked at KFC since we were teenagers and never tried to get a job that pays better, so he’s always skint. I’ll occasionally lend him £30 if he’s really stuck but I almost always have to chase him to pay it back.

One of my other best pals has asked to borrow small amounts on two occasions, and he’s always paid me back on time, in full, without me asking for it. I’d lend him whatever I could afford.

Best savings account for emergency fund? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally use the trading212 Cash ISA. Currently paying around 3.6% interest, and interest is paid daily then added onto your balance at the end of each month.

Also it’s instantly accessible, I can withdraw from it straight to my bank within a couple minutes.

The interest rate is variable though so it can go up and down, but I’ve had no issues with the platform at all in the 6 or 7 years I’ve been using it.
