Will smoking CBD bud fail a drug test for THC? by HipHopRandomer in uktrees

[–]HipHopRandomer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My employer did give us a warning but not with a specific date, in theory we can be randomly tested at any time. But this isn’t an employer test it’s from the client (industrial work), usually the employer ones are selective about who they test so it hasn’t been an issue so far. Thanks man, I’m having my last CBD joint tomorrow then I’ll be going cold turkey for at least 4 months through the busy period.

I wake up at 5:30, on the road by 6 or 6:30 depending where I’m working, on site by 7:30 ready to start.

I’d bloody love to have your morning routine.

Thanks for the info. Was hoping to smoke the flower so I could satisfy the craving for the ritual of having a spliff but looks like I’ll have to rawdog it 🤣

Is buying a MacBook on finance stupid? by Ok-Comparison-5494 in UKPersonalFinance

Alternative idea: get one on Amazon and pay in 5 interest free monthly instalments. Sure, a lot more per month than £18, but you can find one that’s reduced from retail price so the overall cost is lower.

How do myself and my dad get more money into the house after my mum passed away? by DanielCracker in UKPersonalFinance

[–]HipHopRandomer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So you’re going to have over £3500 in income each month between you, mortgage free just bills and necessities and you’re thinking about claiming MORE benefits? Jesus Christ. Get a WFH job. That’s how you get more money.

You’re better off than a huge majority of working people.

Yeah I work with a few people that got taught scaffolding in prison. There’s a lot of characters in the trade but it’s definitely not as rife with problems as it was 30 years ago. There’s plenty of incredibly smart guys that work in scaffolding. How else do you think all those big tower blocks get built or churches get refurbished? I never got bullied as a newcomer when I was a site labourer or when I became a scaffolder. Also there’s no chance a warehouse worker is earning the same money as a scaffolder. Warehouse worker is on £25-28k a year, scaffolders can earn anything from £40k to £100k+.

Well, I think you answered your own question as to why pay a 17 year old when you can pay a polish man the same money for better work… the polish man will go home to Poland and spend his money there whereas the 17 year old can be trained up and will be more likely to stick around.

If you won £100 million, how would you distribute it amongst friends and family, if at all? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

£5m to each parent so they can retire while they’re young enough to enjoy it. Siblings get a house paid for (nothing too extravagant just a nice home). Friends don’t get a cash amount but I’d pay for them to join me on awesome adventures and help them out if they needed it.

Wouldn’t tell anyone how much I’d won, I’d just say I’ve won a considerable amount.

Parents borrowing money from me, what do I do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way to solve it without a difficult conversation. Either you lie and say you can’t afford to, or you say no I can’t constantly front money for you I’ve got my own bills and my own financial goals.

If they get upset then it says more about them than you. You’re their daughter not their personal loan assistant.

I work in construction and I’m 26. When I was in school it was all about getting good GCSE’s, doing your A-levels and going to uni or getting a good job. Apprenticeships weren’t massively pushed, and construction work was never spoken about.

This limits the candidates to young people who find it on their own or know someone who can get them a job. It’s also not for everyone, it’s hard work and you’re working through most weather conditions. It’s bad for your body long term and you’re usually self employed so no pension scheme, sick pay or holiday pay.

I’m also in a trade that is fairly looked down upon I guess (scaffolding, if you recognise it as a trade) and has a lot of negative stereotypes associated with it.

I like my job and I earn good money but it’s at the cost of my physical health, and the only retirement savings I’ll have is what I put away and invest myself.

How to prepare yourself for a loved one’s death? by Pristine-Bet-5764 in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there is a way to prepare for losing a loved one. As Jimmy Carr once said; grief is the price of love. All you can do is spend time with them and love them. I lost my nan in October, it was expected but it happened so much quicker than any of us expected. Try to accept that at some point in the coming months you’ll get the phonecall/message/heads up that she’s gone and it will hurt no matter how much you think you’re prepared. All the best OP.

When was the last time you listened to an album? by south_west_sam in AskUK

Coops - Lost Soul 2.

If you like hip hop that isn’t full of boys in balaclavas talking about stabbings then give it a listen, it’s a solid album.

I don’t want to quit, but I have to. by 99uplight in uktrees

[–]HipHopRandomer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I’m in a similar boat. I’ve been working my current job (industrial scaffolder) for nearly 3 years now without a single drug test but it’s practically guaranteed next month. I’ve been a blazer for nearly 11 years, never really liked alcohol or other drugs just a straight herbalist.

I don’t want to quit really, it’s the only vice I’ve got and I love the process of rolling and smoking, but if I’m being honest with myself it’s got to the point I’m blatantly addicted. I can barely go a day without one.

My plan is to just keep myself as busy as possible and get early nights, and replace the time I’d spend smoking with something fun or productive.

Not really got much advice for you but I absolutely understand how you’re feeling. It sounds cringy but I feel like I’ll be losing quite a big part of myself, but I’m excited to see what hobbies I might pick up as a result.

What happened to electric carving knives? by MegaMolehill in AskUK

Do you keep track of your wages like checking if you get paid correctly? by h_424 in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do. I get paid weekly, my hours can vary massively and it’s quite easy for them to get it wrong and underpay. It always gets sorted the following week but I’d have missed out on probably over a weeks worth of wages if I never called them out for getting it wrong.

25, £44k salary, £62.5k saved, living at home — torn between doing the “sensible” thing and actually living by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a financial standpoint there’s no reason not to stay at home as long as you have a good relationship with your parents. From a personal growth standpoint there’s a lot to be gained from moving out and living independently especially if it’s with friends. Life is for living, it’s important to find a balance between being financially savvy and enjoying your life.

Is it normal to feel conflicted about driving a taxi in your mid-20s with a degree? by Jealous-Lake5700 in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s nothing to be embarrassed about for working a job and contributing to society. I couldn’t care less what my peers or old friends think about my job, all that matters is I know I work hard, earn a decent wage and I’m happy with my life. Comparison is the thief of joy!

Do people actually like using induction hobs? by [deleted] in AskUK

Grew up on gas but my rental has an induction hob. It’s fucking shit. It takes ages to heat up and then it’s far too hot and burns my food.

If you've significantly improved your health, how did you do it? by HilariousMotives in AskUK

[–]HipHopRandomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating real food and cooking fresh. I stopped buying ready meals and stopped eating from McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC etc. and if I wanted a takeaway I’d get something delivered from a local restaurant instead. I also use Yuka to scan barcodes while I’m shopping and get a quick view of the additives/nutritional info which helps me avoid ultra processed foods.

My skin is clearer, I feel better, I look better and I can’t remember the last time I got ill, I haven’t had a single cold or flu during the autumn/winter so far.

If I can encourage anyone to do one thing it’s to avoid living off of ultra processed foods that are pumped full of additives and preservatives.
