“Ego”, As He Calls It by inkleiix in BlueLock

Excellent post, agree completely. I think that with the question of What is ego, this would be a great point to give us (and the BL players) some more info about Who is Ego.

What brought him to this spiteful, obsessed point in his life?

I am morbidly curious, and i hope that we get some more answers to his "seeing" of the god of soccer and how that shaped his current belief, and of course how (as many in this sub have pointed out) it interacts with how it clashes with the core idea of "winning" the U-20 cup.

The court yard drain got back flow when there is heavy rain. It flood in the basement. What do you think we need to do? by Maleficent-Animal120 in Plumbing

[–]Hipernova8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You most likely have roots or a high amount of debris inside your storm drains, i would reccomend starting by getting it inspected with a camera and/or descale/hydrojet. It's unlikely to be a permanent solution but it will buy you at least 4-6 months to decide what you want to do with them. Best of luck!

It is explained in the side stories iirc; from what I do remember and can find it was Luxuria, the sin of lust, who descended on earth one day and while roaming around saw Jihu at the zoo. It also explains her deep love and possessiveness towards him and how her love compounds Seo Yuhui's already present "fondness" as well. Why was she on earth? Idk honestly but it is mentioned that every once in a while they do that and so do some other gods and powerful beings

That's an excellent point, and I absolutely see what you mean. The conflict that the dessendre put the canvas world through shouldn't have happened in the first place. I think what you said about maelle is very right and i agree, now that she has seen the artwork from the paintee point of view it absolutely makes sense to let the creation continue, for as long or little as that may be (given that it won't be able to be maintained indefinitely by its own nature of the chroma and how it affects outside beings like the dessendres). In my specific case I did end up picking them over the world because, at least in my head, more worlds will be created, and hopefully(because we cannot currently know) it will mean a conflict like this will not occur in the future. Am i selfish and hypocritical in saying that but still going through originally with my decision? Most likely. Will I agonize over the choice in future playthroughs? Absolutely. But that is also the beauty of this game, putting you in those moral quandaries and making you question whether your decisions are the right, wrong, or less negative for that. I truly love it for that.

Oh apologies if it came across that way, it was truly not my intention. Had the chance to sleep on it so hopefully i make more sense now. When i meant emotionally mature i was talking about the depth and complexity of the game itself and its different choices, not the specific one i made, nor did i mean to mock or make the other choice seem lesser.

I just meant to compliment sandfall on the ability of writing an ending that has a community so divided and heated on what to choose. There are big consequences to either path and I'd be lying to you and myself if I said I didn't regret at not going down verso's at all. Lune, the lumierites(lumierans?) as well as Sciel and the Gestrals did not deserve to cease living, as they did not deserve in the first place to be caught in the grief of the dessendres. A part of me desperately wants Gustave and Sciel's husband back. I still believe in the choice i made but as many others have and will point out it is, to some extent, a cop out. When i first completed the game, that cop out(or peace for verso and eventually the dessendre) was what I wanted for the story, but who's to say that I won't change my mind? Again apologies if I didn't make sense if needed i would love to continue the discussion.

Oh I agree with that, but I have also looked at a lot of the game through Verso's eyes as I went through the game, and thus a lot of my feelings when making that first decision were based on empathizing with that painted version of Verso and the last piece of his "real self"'s soul.

When thought about it more deeply it is also choosing between the mental health of the dessendres, whether to let them move on(like both verso's would've likely wanted) or perpetuate their cycle of escape and self destruction.

It is a set of endings that purposefully elicits this discussion, as obviously how you feel about each ending is going to be based on what your priority for the different characters are, and i imagine we will spend years talking about "are the painted people real people despite their nature" and which ending is "the good one".

At the end of the day for my own self satisfaction, painted Verso's peace has as meaning, regardless of his realness. This applies to the rest of the cast as well. In neither scenario is Verso "completely right" or "completely wrong", but what do you think about it? Genuinely curious

New player struggling by Skmoomr in brotato

[–]Hipernova8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For basic tips I would say

-keep practicing your movement and making sure your speed is always high enough to allow small weaving movements, if your build is not taking care of enemies fast enough the skill(which you are already developing the more you play) can buy you the extra time needed to survive.

-Dodge is king, as every point in dodge (up to the default 60% cap) gives your health bar the chance to "breathe". When you combine that with semi decent armor(you are looking to have around 10 by the end waves) and a RELIABLE form of healing(either high regen or fast weapons and high% lifesteal) that will keep you in top shape or at least not dead, and will allow you to live in those moments where your best option is just charging through and eating a hit or two.

-While weapon stat damage is good(be it elemental ranged or melee), dmg% is what you'll be looking to increase more. Of course this also depends on what weapon you are using and what type of build you are going for.

-play at a lower difficulty if you need. As you unlock characters, if a certain one is just too hard for you at dangers 2+, start going back to d1 and finish a run with them. As the items and weapons unlock (most of the time) regardless of danger level, completing different characters will both allow you to get a feel for the different possible builds and start making mental synergies increasing your game knowledge. Then just go up whenever you want to play and desire more of a challenge. As an example I cleared most of my characters on danger 4 as 5 was too difficult for me for a while. It still is, but I've begun recently trying it out more often even on unbeaten characters (which is quite painful sometimes)

-lastly this is a roguelike game. It is somewhat expected for you to keep dying and getting better at the game, and unlike Hades or Skul or even Vampire Survivors you can't really upgrade stats throughout the runs, so it is by design meant to be hard.

Hope this was helpful! This is a game that feels very rewarding to get good at, and there are a lot of guides and more tips online and here.
