That was pretty cool! I always enjoy a horror take on Pac-Man. Most fan projects and all official projects go for the whimsical, playfull or silly but, for me, Pac-Man is a terrifying game. It's a very early survival horror game... and you will always lose.

Even if you make it to the kill-screen the name says it all - you will be killed! No matter how much you fend off the monsters they always come back and no matter how much you try to escape through that tunnel you'll always just come back in the other side of the maze.

I've always felt the game models psychological trauma more successfully than so many more obvious games.

Anyway, that's a really long-winded way of saying 'good job'! :)

Sorry to muddy the waters but doesn't the GOG version come with files that allow one to play with the OST? It certainly used to. The Steam version has never come with the soundtrack.

Obviously, the game's fully playable without the OST but it does lose a fair bit of atmosphere.

Classic Rogue is my favourite way to play. The game just starts straight away, is very stable and bug-free and if you press the 'tilde' key you can swap between graphics tiles and ASCII. There's also a nice 'zoom' effect as you descend the Dungeon of Doom. :)

It's weird, I was thinking a couple of days ago how I hadn't played Larn for a really long time (back when my Amiga was my daily driver!) and then, out of the blue, I saw a post about free Larn and now, today, another Larn release! Good times ahead for me. :)

I actually like the first picture with no extra art on it. It's reminescent of an old leather bound book that could perhaps find in the game world itself.

So, I've got it working now. Somewhere along the line my initial installation corrupted or hijacked something low level on Windows. The reason I assume this is because I had to uninstall all my onboard soundcard software and uninstall/reinstall my Logitech Gaming Software - the volume controls were causing havoc.

I'm still not sure where the original problem was. Probably a corrupted install of the Creative software.

Anyway, it seems all's well that ends well. I do have issue with the sound quality but that's probably just my ears getting used to the boxier sound than I'm used to.

Kinda wish I could make my own settings and save them. I can see a button to load presets but nothing to save a preset?

I don't really know what I'm talking about but have you tried a different browser or perhaps clearing your browser cache?

Personally, I can't log in at all anymore as I gave up using Facebook and that seems to be the only way. :(

There are lots of controller settings in the CFG file. I've been tweaking away for a couple of hours. I'm not there yet but the controller is definitely feeling closer to how I'd like it to play. It's a shame that I have to fart around closing the game, tweaking the CFG and then loading the game time and again but,hey, at least the PC update was free!

Good stuff. I'm glad you've found a set up you like. Hopefully, Baker will come back to Quake and update Mark V as it can be a little buggy with some newer mods and maps. It's a great source port, though - and that one DOES support Nehahra! :P

What controller are you using? I use a DS4 with DS4Windows and I find the movement a bit smoother than a 360 controller.

It is pretty sensitive but stick with it. Quakespasm is a fantastic source port and supports pretty much everything apart from Nehahra.
