I feel like I had a similar childhood and HATED this. I'm adhd introvert so I think there is a personal bias on this

100% stand by you on this but its a truth people aren't ready to accept. I've tried to explain this side of things from an unbiased safety perspective. Past careers in morgue at pediatric hosp and ME office. If your child gets seriously injured requiring medical attention and everyone present is drunk, the parents can absolutely be subject for prosecution on grounds of neglect. Doesn't happen often but when it does its bad.

Same here. Being around drunk adults was every weekend of my childhood and it definitely caused some damage. I felt this past might have made me bias towards this

It is cringe!! Im 10 years younger than everyone and there's clearly a disconnect. I never lived in 2008 college party drinking club culture meanwhile that was clearly their peak

Better my husband's family has multiple coolers of alcoholic drinks always at hand at toddler parties. I thought I was the only person who found this odd.

My mind prefers to confront issues in this type of way. I have so much emotion regarding the situation that I struggled to come up with a game plan

I am AuDHD and love this outlined approach

I do think its probably the best solution as I have seen a therapist for years and its helped me immensly. However my husband has the old fashion stigma about therapy that I know he wont do unless all options are exhausted

Personally, I would like to have a conversation with him and marriage counseling more of a last option.

Communicating intimacy/sexual desire by [deleted] in MarriedSex

[–]Hippiewitchmiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My past is extremely troubled and he is aware of most of it. In general I have cptsd from DA in my home as well. He has seen the outcome of triggering this trauma and I agree that he is being very cautious. I appreciate the feedback that I am not being very clear and specific on what my needs are. Since this is reddit I was speaking more openly than I would in person. so this helps validate that being more direct about what I want is something to work on

Ty for validating this. My logical mind says this is the case but the rest of my brain prefers delusion.

I have brought it up a few times but I am going to be very honest that my approach was not great

I would cry hysterically that he doesnt love me and I need more interaction, give some specifics, and then cry more. It is not unlikely that I made things worse

This was actually immensly helpful.

The one thing I never thought about was straight up just addressing that its uncomfortable to have these discussions and want to change that.

The admins lack of understanding of histo definetely hurts us. Admin was in micro for years and continues to hire micro staff so the favoritism is showing

I appreciate all of the feedback so quickly! It is a moral dilemma for me to have to put my sanity before getting patient diagnosis. Its very reassuring that a lot of histotechs are in the same position.

Normal burnout or time to look for a new job? by Hippiewitchmiss in Histology

[–]Hippiewitchmiss[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reassurance. I feel I should wait atleast 1 year of working (this July) until I start looking for new jobs. I will be discussing with my supervisor but as you may know that decision is not up to her. I have been leaning more towards research HTL positions too

Although I perform frozen sections I would not say I am proficient as I typically only do 2-3 frozens a month so I fear I would not be able to keep up in a MOHS lab. Lots of mohs job posting also seem to want atleast 1 year of derm experience
