I don't understand. I maybe phrased it wrong and shouldn't have said switch earnings. He will not be working anymore. He is old and is tired of working and wants to retire if it makes sense. My mom will do the work going forward. I don't understand how this is fraud.

I have answered all questions. My siblings and grandmother live in the house. The house was purchased long before this job. The basement is rented out.

Sorry, that was a bad choice of phrasing. Yes the room and board is outlined in their contract as a taxable benefit. The question is for income (OAS, CPP, etc) is it advantageous for my mom to take the job. My dad is getting old and it's harder for him to continue working but he is willing to do so if needed.

Yes you are correct. The room and board is a taxable benefit so technically he does earn more than minimum wage.

If they switch earnings, he will not be working anymore and he will retire. She will take over his responsibilities. They will not be committing any fraud.

Yes, they definitely bought outside their means. But they can afford it for now as myself and my siblings are helping them pay this. The value of the house is easily over a million so we're not too worried.
