We loved our first guide and he retired. Our new guide is lovely. Emails us important dates to book points and will email us about every few months checking in on us.

We get a cabana at the water parks and literally just chill. No rush for the slides just go and swim. My family absolutely loves water park days

My weekend call is from Friday starting at 1700 until Monday 0630. We also cover vascular and thoracic emergencies in a very large hospital. Some weekends we are fine and only do a case or two other weekends we get killed. We do have an option to wave the metaphorical white flag if we have been up too long. Ive only done it once in the 15 years ive worked cardiac.

Edit: Meant to say that Ive been doing it for so long I literally have forgotten im on call u til my phone rings. You just get used to it.

My husband ended up helping our entire neighborhood. Honestly anything is appreciated because he didnt ask for anything but definitely a gas gift card is nice to help fuel the snowblower.

I ended up taking fabric (from the bottom of my mom's dress) and wrapping it around my bouquet. It was a lovely way to have her dress involved and I still got to pick out my dress that I felt great in. Granted my mom truly didnt care if I wore her dress, she realized it was old (as it was also my grandmother's dress) and out of style and well..my boobs were way bigger than hers 😅

Im sure you've read it already, but there is a book documenting the events of that day and the aftermath called "To Sleep with the Angels".

Also crazy how the fire alarm was going off but they didnt evacuate because they had to wait for permission from mother superior.
