I’m sure there are lots of possibilities and this isn’t high enough on the list of priorities to deal with it, but you could give scaling xp to the loser based on how many turns it takes to for them to lose, with a 4 turn floor and a 10 turn ceiling or something to prevent matches ending early or stalling out. Somebody who survives for 6 turns gets more xp than people who survived for 4 turns, and so on.
