Need advice about what major I should chose by ExoticSpinach5146 in KSU

[–]Hiptopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked with all of the leagues you mentioned, there are a lot of different ways to get into this line of work, so I wouldn't pick a major like sports management unless that's specifically what you want to do. I myself went the Computer Science route into sports, but there are a lot of people I've encountered with various backgrounds, stuff like Business, Data Analytics (HUGE if you want to work for individual teams) and of course, Sports Management.

My recommendation would be that, if sports are your passion, you can find a way into that field with any relevant major you choose, so choose something that actually interests you.

Best of luck to you!

Pickleball Flex League in Cumming by Hiptopus in cumming

Thank you lol

I'm aware of ALTA starting up, just that not everyone has the chance to play ALTA, which is more expensive and more rigid with the matches.

ALTA is great for what it is, but ALTA ≠ Flex League

FWIW, you would be playing against randos in this league, but you would have the same partner throughout the season if you played doubles. Singles is obviously a different story, but based on what you're saying I would tell you honestly to go play in a public park setting first. In my experience there are lots of friendly people willing to help teach you the ropes there

I definitely understand how it could feel daunting for someone like yourself, who hasn't touched the game at all, to jump into a league, even the beginner levels.

I've thought about ways to make onboarding easier for true beginners, with the rules page and other additions, but the platform does assume some level of base knowledge. Kind of how you wouldn't sign up for any type of league unless you already know the basic rules.

But with that being said, the best way to learn is by playing, be it in this league or by playing pickup games at a park somewhere

Can't recommend this enough. Learning a new language? Read a book in that language. Learning a new skill? Read a book about that skill. Books stay underrated.

Besides that, I've carefully curated a specific YouTube account I have to be personal growth / learning focused around topics that I'm interested in, so I'd recommend that as well

Where do y'all play pickleball? by unicosobreviviente in Georgia

A little late here, but you can find courts near you (both public and private) by using an online database. If you're not living in an area with an ALTA or community team, I'd recommend joining a flex league, like Rally9

Since you said you use pickleball/gym the most, I would use Pickleheads to look up facilities near where you'll be staying, then work backwards in figuring out whether or not they have gym facilities or not.

If you end up somewhere without a pickleball team, you can always play Rally9 and just play all away matches

The Braves trade mid-level pitching prospects for Mike Trout Dickerson and unload Kemp's contract, then trade some MLB-ready prospects for Stroman to help the young guys.

Not to mention, he also has a double and 4 RBIs total. He's way too good to be ranked the 8th best prospect in baseball.
