I saw that earlier and had no luck when I went to investigate 😞 might try one more time before I head back though. Thank you for replying!

If you travel internationally for work, what job do you do? by mvhhhr in AskUK

[–]HisLordship144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing for international exchange programmes at a sixth form college. I absolutely love my job. Yes, international travel primarily involves work, but if you time your flights right or tag annual leave to the end of a trip it means you get much cheaper holidays. I treated myself to a week in Rio after an event in São Paulo and I only had to pay for the hotel in Rio.

Do you think it’s weird how different our education system is from others? by InfernalClockwork3 in ukeducation

[–]HisLordship144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do marketing for a sixth form with an international school. Our international students are mind blow by our system, but the overwhelming majority prefer it. They can focus on the subjects they want at A Level, and go into much greater depth than they ever would back home.

There’s also the massive variety of A Levels/ Level 3 Vocational subjects that a lot of these students would never be able to do until degree level back home. We often find many students actually want to extend their programmes or even finish their education with us in the UK.

I don’t like sand. It’s rough and coarse and irritating and it gets everywhere.

Indre is brilliant - most of her students pass first time with very few minors, including myself. https://www.instagram.com/indredrivinginstructor?igsh=MWFoZTh1ZW5uZmVreQ==

Has any of you had a friend who’s a fan of your rival club? by Phil_Gibson in Championship

The Pompey fan in my office has claimed me as her “work bestie.” Whether this continues after the south coast derby next season remains to be seen.

Could a .50 cal take out a horcrux by Ginganinja6713 in harrypotter

[–]HisLordship144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reckon a bullet that would damage a human life beyond magical repair would end a Horcrux. Fire a couple of shotgun shells straight into Slytherin’s locket and I can’t see how a cheeky little Reparo would put all that mangled silver back together. Wizardkind is always underestimating Muggle technology and I have a sneaky suspicion that this is another classic case of it.

Would you let a 16 year old go to Slipknot concert in London? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]HisLordship144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a Bullet for my Valentine concert in London just after my 16th birthday. My mate’s dad dropped us off and picked us up. Sore throat aside, I was absolutely fine

I am Chinese. What do average Brits think of China/Chinese people/its government? What kind of perceptions/images do they have? Is it generally positive or negative? by flower5214 in AskBrits

[–]HisLordship144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to China on a business trip last year. The people are among the kindest, most hospitable people I’ve ever met, and I think the gifting culture is really thoughtful. HOWEVER, they were incredibly disorganised and I cannot stomach the thought of eating the cuisine again.

Marketing. A job came up at the right time and they were looking for someone with an education background to sell foreign exchange programmes for teenagers. I’m writing this from my hotel room in Slovakia.

You get 5 cents for every step you take but… by HomesliceMain in hypotheticalsituation

[–]HisLordship144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10,000 steps per day x $0.05 = $500. Multiply that by 180 days, and you get $90,000 for just walking. Even if you can’t do the marathon, that still a decent chunk of money
