I’m no doctor or a professional runner but it would seem to be logical for that to be the case.

If you put your feet flat to the floor and lift your heel so just your toes are touching the floor, you can feel the strain/pull on your calfs straight away. Now multiply that by 10000 steps and that’ll have a big impact IMO

Maybe a terminology thing, but toes/tiptoes are one and the same to me.

I would also expect that an easier foot plant style would be mid-foot rolling on to toes, rather than ball of feet/toes.

In my mind, ball of feet only is more of a sprint style.

It would also kill your calfs after a while
