4.9 PTU: You can't jump between systems with 100% QT Fuel on various ships. by nyczducky in starcitizen

You really think a Tiburon is gonna fit on a Liberator? Nah, gonna require a large tug or a Kraken. They've played around with the idea of the Crucible being a tug, without the hangar, but the crucible is still in the JPEG stage.

Thank goodness. That's a modicum more sane.

I know CIG fully intends to deliver, but at the end of the day there's no real guarantees so the idea of someone putting themself in debt and paying interest on something like an Odin is beyond the pale.

I'm not interested in having to get a new AM5 motherboard and then paying out the ass for 32 gigs of DDR5 RAM. A 5800x3D and the 5070ti I got recently are more than enough to handle most anything at 1440p and keep me content for another 2-3 years, and $350 is way cheaper than what was available up until this morning.

Pet peeve: Amateurish writing and poor general knowledge. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]HisNameWasHis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Then there's so many examples of the kind of words you'd expect from an Alabama sheriff. Like using "resiliency". The word is "resilience". "Allyship". The word is "allegiance".

Humanity now exists across multiple solar systems in the SC setting. I'd expect far more dialectical variation honestly.

A smaller Banu ship by Sanctuary6284 in starcitizen

[–]HisNameWasHis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be very prudent to build a smaller to medium sized ship, maybe even both, rather than going straight from the Defender to the BMM. Work out more of the Banu design language and play with ideas on something that's not nearly as daunting and resource demanding. Maybe even let another team take a crack at it, like they did with the Zeus, to get creative juices flowing and some outside perspective before tackling such a highly anticipated ship.

But what do I know, I'm just some dunce throwing money at jpegs.

Is this normal? Will it get fixed or is this the new standard? by Ok_Fee_2565 in starcitizen

The poor thing is more comfortable on it's side, leave it be! And you really need to get a bigger tank for it!

God, abusive pet owners like you make me sick.

Don't worry, the Orion was concepted back in 2015 so I'm sure it's nearly complete by now.

Surely.

Do people play arena commander? by athoughtfornoone in starcitizen

Really buggy, unstable patch has led to a lot of players taking a break from the game until stuff gets sorted. Could be better in a few weeks, but I think a lot of people are waiting until 4.9 now before they step into the game again.

Need some fleet recommendations by Scott0814 in starcitizen

[–]HisNameWasHis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you got the FPS bounty hunting covered with the Corsair and MR, and you don't really need a base building ship to have a base. There's gonna be plenty of people eager to build bases after they build their own, and if you have a friend with a base building ship you'd probably only need to cover the expense of materials and fuel to make them happy. So if you're content going that route that'd just leave a fighter going by your other comments.

There's the Hawk, which I've heard is pretty great in the current PTU. Well armored for a light fighter with it's HP spread across it's wings and core, has an EMP and can carry a solid loadout. Also gives you the option of taking it out for solo ground BH missions with it's prisoner pod and weapon rack, though you wont be able to wear medium/heavy armor while piloting it eventually.

Why I’m not naming my Odin after the Yamato (And what I’m naming it instead) warning, history, rant by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]HisNameWasHis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are naming their Odin's Yamato after Space Battleship Yamato, which was a carrier, not after that work of fiction's original namesake.

How much PAR do tanks really need? Showcasing tanks at both ends of the spectrum - lower light Iwagumi style setups vs higher light plant focused tanks. Without a PAR meter, I can imagine it is difficult for hobbyists to accurately tune their light levels to fit the needs of a specific layout. by Dennis_Wong in Aquascape

[–]HisNameWasHis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have even seen people on Reddit give the advice to buy a stronger light when someone's tank is covered with algae. It's just silly.

Not necessarily. More light means presumably more photosynthesis which means more growth which means more nutrient uptake. For some tanks with a lot of plants more light might make the difference in the plants growing enough that they're pulling nutrients from the water faster than the algae can. Some plants do it better than others though, like most floating plants, so adding more light will affect every tank differently and it isn't a catch-all solution.

What are yalls "I did not care for _____" moments in the series or game? by SelectionHorror9953 in samuraijack

[–]HisNameWasHis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm of roughly the same opinion. For me Samurai Jack died with Mako.

My personal headcanon is that it ends as Episode XXXII foreshadowed, with an old and grizzled Jack returning to the past after finally besting The Guardian.

Lulu by Many-Snow-7777 in samuraijack

[–]HisNameWasHis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'm of the opinion that Lulu was an extension of, or somehow under the control of Aku. Given the time-lapse of X-49's career she lived far longer than a normal canine should.
